Abstract

A receiver bandwidth adaptation for radio access technologies (RATs) may be for a New Radio (NR) or 5G flexible RAT. A WTRU control channel (e.g., receiver) bandwidth may change, for example, based on monitoring a downlink channel for an indication using a bandwidth (BW) associated with a first BW configuration. The indication may include a signal to change the receiver BW. The WTRU may change the receiver BW associated with the first BW configuration to a second BW configuration when the WTRU receives the indication on a downlink (DL) channel. The WTRU may perform one or more measurements associated with the second BW configuration in response to the change of the receiver BW to the second BW configuration. The WTRU may transmit measurement information to a network entity. The WTRU may receive a DL transmission from the network using the second BW configuration.

Claims (34)

1. A method implemented by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:

receiving configuration information associated with a secondary carrier, wherein the secondary carrier is associated with a secondary cell and the configuration information includes information regarding a low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell;

receiving first downlink control information (DCI);

determining, based on the first DCI and the received configuration information, that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be activated; and

responsive to determining that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be activated, activating the low power bandwidth for the secondary cell, wherein no control resource set is monitored on the secondary cell when the low power bandwidth of the secondary cell is activated.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the configuration information includes an identifier of the low power bandwidth, and the low power bandwidth is non-zero.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving second DCI;

determining, based on the second DCI and the received configuration information, that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be deactivated; and

responsive to determining that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be deactivated, deactivating the low power bandwidth for the secondary cell, and activating another bandwidth for the secondary cell.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the configuration information further includes an identifier of the other bandwidth that is activated responsive to determining that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be deactivated.

5. The method of claim 3 , wherein less power is consumed by the WTRU with the low power bandwidth activated than with the other bandwidth activated.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein activating the low power bandwidth for the secondary cell comprises performing a measurement associated with the low power bandwidth and transmitting a result of the measurement to a network entity.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the measurement comprises a channel state information (CSI) measurement.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first DCI includes one or more bits indicating that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be activated.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the configuration information is received via radio resource control (RRC) signaling and the first DCI is received via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission.

10. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), comprising:

a processor configured to:

receive configuration information associated with a secondary carrier, wherein the secondary carrier is associated with a secondary cell and the configuration information includes information regarding a low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell;

receive first downlink control information (DCI);

determine, based on the first DCI and the received configuration information, that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be activated; and

based on the determination that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be activated, activate the low power bandwidth for the secondary cell, wherein no control resource set is monitored on the secondary cell when the low power bandwidth of the secondary cell is activated.

11. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the configuration information includes an identifier of the low power bandwidth, and the low power bandwidth is non-zero.

12. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

receive second DCI;

determine, based on the second DCI and the received configuration information, that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be deactivated; and

based on the determination that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be deactivated, deactivate the low power bandwidth for the secondary cell; and

activate another bandwidth for the secondary cell.

13. The WTRU of claim 12 , wherein the configuration information further includes an identifier of the other bandwidth that is activated based on the determination that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be deactivated.

14. The WTRU of claim 12 , wherein less power is consumed by the WTRU with the low power bandwidth activated than with the other bandwidth activated.

15. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the processor being configured to activate the low power bandwidth for the secondary cell comprises the processor being configured to perform a measurement associated with the low power bandwidth and transmit a result of the measurement to a network entity.

16. The WTRU of claim 15 , wherein the measurement comprises a channel state information (CSI) measurement.

17. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the first DCI includes one or more bits indicating that the low power bandwidth associated with the secondary cell is to be activated.

18. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the configuration information is received via radio resource control (RRC) signaling and the first DCI is received via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission.
