Abstract

An electronic device including a housing, a display panel with a flexible substrate, and a flexible printed circuit, in which the housing comprises a flat surface and a side surface comprising a curved region, the display panel comprises a first region that overlaps with the flat surface and a second region that overlaps with the side surface, the display panel comprises a convex portion that comprises a region overlapping with a flexible printed circuit, and the display panel comprises a display portion in the first region and the second region.

Claims (66)

1. A display panel comprising a flexible substrate comprising:

a first display region;

a second display region; and

a third display region,

wherein the first display region comprises a quadrangle outline,

wherein the first display region comprises a first side and a second side,

wherein the first side and the second side form a first corner portion of the quadrangle outline,

wherein the second display region is provided so as to be in contact with the first side,

wherein a width of the second display region in a direction parallel to the first side coincides with a length of the first side,

wherein the third display region is provided so as to be in contact with the second side,

wherein a width of the third display region in a direction parallel to the second side coincides with a length of the second side, and

wherein the substrate comprises a notch portion in a region facing the first display region with the first corner portion provided therebetween.

2. The display panel according to claim 1 ,

wherein the display panel comprises a plurality of pixels, and

wherein the pixel comprises a transistor comprising an oxide semiconductor in a semiconductor layer in which a channel is formed.

3. The display panel according to claim 1 ,

wherein the display panel comprises a plurality of pixels, and

wherein the pixel comprises a transistor comprising polycrystalline silicon in a semiconductor layer in which a channel is formed.

4. The display panel according to claim 1 , further comprising a first driving circuit and a second driving circuit,

wherein the first driving circuit outputs a signal to the first display region and the second display region,

wherein the second driving circuit outputs a signal to the third display region,

wherein the first driving circuit is provided along a side of the second display region which is opposite to the first side,

wherein the second driving circuit is provided along a side of the third display region in a direction in which the first side extends, and

wherein the first driving circuit and the second driving circuit are electrically connected to each other by a wiring.

5. The display panel according to claim 1 , further comprising a driving circuit,

wherein the driving circuit outputs a signal to the first display region, the second display region, and the third display region,

wherein the driving circuit is provided along a side of the second display region which is opposite to the first side,

wherein the driving circuit and the third display region are electrically connected to each other by a wiring.

6. The display panel according to claim 1 , further comprising a fourth display region provided in contact with a third side which is opposite to the first side of the first display region.

7. The display panel according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a fourth display region provided in contact with a third side which is opposite to the first side of the first display region; and

a fifth display region provided in contact with a fourth side which is opposite to the second side of the first display region.

8. An electronic device comprising:

the display panel according to claim 1 ; and

a housing,

wherein the housing comprises a top surface, a rear surface, a first side surface, a second side surface in contact with the first side surface, a third side surface opposite to the first side surface, and a fourth side surface opposite to the second side surface,

wherein each of the first side surface and the second side surface comprises a curved surface continuous from the top surface to the rear surface,

wherein the first display region of the display panel is provided along the top surface,

wherein the second display region is provided along the first side surface, and

wherein the third display region is provided along the second side surface.

9. An electronic device comprising:

the display panel according to claim 6 ; and

a housing,

wherein the housing comprises a top surface, a rear surface, a first side surface, a second side surface in contact with the first side surface, a third side surface opposite to the first side surface, and a fourth side surface opposite to the second side surface,

wherein each of the first side surface, the second side surface, and the third side surface comprises a curved surface continuous from the top surface to the rear surface,

wherein the first display region of the display panel is provided along the top surface,

wherein the second display region is provided along the first side surface,

wherein the third display region is provided along the second side surface, and

wherein the fourth display region is provided along the third side surface.

10. An electronic device comprising:

the display panel according to claim 7 ; and

a housing,

wherein the housing comprises a top surface, a rear surface, a first side surface, a second side surface in contact with the first side surface, a third side surface opposite to the first side surface, and a fourth side surface opposite to the second side surface,

wherein each of the first side surface, the second side surface, the third side surface, and the fourth side surface comprises a curved surface continuous from the top surface to the rear surface,

wherein the first display region of the display panel is provided along the top surface,

wherein the second display region is provided along the first side surface,

wherein the third display region is provided along the second side surface,

wherein the fourth display region is provided along the third side surface, and

wherein the fifth display region is provided along the fourth side surface.

11. The electronic device according to claim 8 , further comprising a touch sensor at a position overlapping with the display panel,

wherein the touch sensor is provided along the top surface and at least one of the first side surface, the second side surface, the third side surface, and the fourth side surface, and

wherein the touch sensor is provided along the top surface.

12. The electronic device according to claim 9 , further comprising a touch sensor at a position overlapping with the display panel,

wherein the touch sensor is provided along the top surface and at least one of the first side surface, the second side surface, the third side surface, and the fourth side surface, and

wherein the touch sensor is provided along the top surface.

13. The electronic device according to claim 10 , further comprising a touch sensor at a position overlapping with the display panel, wherein the touch sensor is provided along the top surface and at least one of the first side surface, the second side surface, the third side surface, and the fourth side surface.
