UE sounding procedure between component carriers
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling collisions between PUCCH/PUSCH carrying certain reporting and sounding reference signals (SRS). The techniques provide rules that a user equipment (UE) may apply to decide if and when to drop SRS or PUCCH/PUSCH transmissions scheduled on overlapping time resources in different component carriers.
1 . A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
determining a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission scheduled on a first component carrier (CC) overlaps with a report transmission scheduled on a second CC, wherein the report transmission comprises a synchronization signal block (SSB)-based beam report;
deciding to drop the SRS transmission based on the determination; and
transmitting the report transmission based on the decision.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the SRS transmission is scheduled on the first CC without a scheduled physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:
the SRS transmission comprises a periodic SRS; and
the SSB-based beam report comprises a periodic SSB-based beam report without acknowledgment feedback.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:
the SRS transmission comprises an aperiodic SRS; and
the SSB-based beam report comprises an aperiodic SSB-based beam report.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the decision to drop is based, at least in part, on a time-domain behavior of the SRS transmission.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the decision to drop is based, at least in part, on a usage of the SRS transmission.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the decision to drop is based, at least in part, on the SRS transmission being for a non-positioning use.
8 . A user equipment (UE), comprising:
a processing system configured to:
determine a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission scheduled on a first component carrier (CC) overlaps with a report transmission scheduled on a second CC, wherein the report transmission comprises a synchronization signal block (SSB)-based beam report scheduled for transmission,
decide to drop the SRS transmission based on the determination; and
transmit the report transmission based on the decision.
9 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the SRS transmission is scheduled on the first CC without a scheduled physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission.
10 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein:
the SRS transmission comprises a periodic SRS; and
the SSB-based beam report comprises a periodic SSB-based beam report without acknowledgment feedback.
11 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein:
the SRS transmission comprises an aperiodic SRS; and
the SSB-based beam report comprises an aperiodic SSB-based beam report.
12 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the decision to drop is based, at least in part, on a time-domain behavior of the SRS transmission.
13 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the decision to drop is based, at least in part, on a usage of the SRS transmission.
14 . The UE of claim 13 , wherein the decision to drop is based, at least in part, on the SRS transmission being for a non-positioning use.
