Abstract

An apparatus includes a network interface and a processor. The network interface receives event data that identifies a content ID and a message authentication code. The content ID identifies a content within a webcast or a virtual event. The processor generates a content hash, at least in part based on the content ID. The network interface transmits a content request and receives the content. The content request identifies the content hash and the message authentication code.

Claims (33)

1. A method implemented by a computing device, the method comprising:

transmitting an event registration that includes an event ID to identify a webcast or a virtual event;

receiving event data that identifies a content ID and a message authentication code, wherein the content ID identifies a content within the webcast or the virtual event;

generating a content hash, at least in part based on the content ID;

transmitting a content request that identifies the content hash and the message authentication code; and

receiving the content.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the event data further includes a show ID, and the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on the show ID.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the event data identifies a company key and an event key, and the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on the company key and the event key.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on user data, and the content request includes the user data.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the content hash is reversible.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the event data includes an address of a content delivery network, and the content request is transmitted to the address of the content delivery network.

7. An apparatus, comprising:

a network interface that transmits an event registration that includes an event ID to identify a webcast or a virtual event and receives event data that identifies a content ID and a message authentication code, wherein the content ID identifies a content within the webcast or the virtual event; and

a processor configured to generate a content hash, at least in part based on the content ID, wherein the network interface transmits a content request and receives the content, and the content request identifies the content hash and the message authentication code.

8. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the event data further includes a show ID, and the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on the show ID.

9. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the event data identifies a company key and an event key, and the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on the company key and the event key.

10. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on user data, and the content request includes the user data.

11. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the content hash is reversible.

12. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the event data includes an address of a content delivery network, and the content request is transmitted to the address of the content delivery network.

13. The apparatus of claim 7 , further comprising:

a user input interface, wherein the event data includes a title of the content, and the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on an input to the user input interface.

14. A non-transitory, computer-readable medium encoded with instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform a method comprising:

transmitting an event registration that includes an event ID to identify a webcast or a virtual event;

receiving event data that identifies a content ID and a message authentication code, wherein the content ID identifies a content within the webcast or the virtual event;

generating a content hash, at least in part based on the content ID;

transmitting a content request that identifies the content hash and the message authentication code; and

receiving the content.

15. The medium of claim 14 , wherein the event data further includes a show ID, and the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on the show ID.

16. The medium of claim 15 , wherein the event data identifies a company key and an event key, and the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on the company key and the event key.

17. The medium of claim 14 , wherein the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on user data, and the content request includes the user data.

18. The medium of claim 14 , wherein the content hash is reversible.

19. The medium of claim 14 , wherein the event data includes an address of a content delivery network, and the content request is transmitted to the address of the content delivery network.

20. The medium of claim 14 , wherein the event data includes a title of the content, and the content hash is generated, at least in part based further on an input to a user input interface of the computer.
