Abstract

Described are embodiments for improved radio link failure reporting. A first base station transmits, to a wireless device, configuration parameters of a first cell comprising a bandwidth part (BWP). The first base station receives a radio link failure report indicating a connection failure associated with the first base station and the wireless device. The radio link failure report indicates: a cell identifier of the first cell, and a subcarrier spacing of the BWP associated with the connection failure.

Claims (60)

1. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a first base station to a wireless device, configuration parameters of a first cell comprising a bandwidth part (BWP); and

receiving, by the first base station, a radio link failure report indicating a connection failure associated with the first base station and the wireless device, wherein the radio link failure report indicates:

a cell identifier of the first cell; and

a subcarrier spacing of the BWP associated with the connection failure.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the radio link failure report is received from the wireless device.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the radio link failure report is received from a second base station that received the radio link failure report from the wireless device.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the radio link failure report further indicates a bandwidth of the BWP.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the configuration parameters are transmitted in a radio resource control (RRC) message, wherein the configuration parameters comprise:

an index of the BWP;

a first parameter indicating a bandwidth of the BWP; and

a second parameter indicating the subcarrier spacing of the BWP, and wherein the radio link failure report comprises the first parameter; and the second parameter.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the RRC message comprises the cell identifier of the first cell.

7. The method of claim 5 , wherein the configuration parameters comprise BWP configuration parameters of BWPs of the first cell, wherein the BWPs comprises the BWP, and wherein the BWP configuration parameters comprise the index, the first parameter, and the second parameter.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the radio link failure report comprises at least one of:

a failure cause parameter indicating a cause of the connection failure;

a default BWP index of a default BWP of the BWPs; or

an initial BWP index of an initial BWP of the BWPs.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the BWP comprises at least one of:

a downlink BWP; or

an uplink BWP.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

transmitting, to the wireless device, an information request message requesting the radio link failure report, wherein the information request message is in response to the wireless device performing, based on the connection failure, a random access to a second cell of the base station.

11. A base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to:

transmit, to a wireless device, configuration parameters of a first cell comprising a bandwidth part (BWP); and

receive a radio link failure report indicating a connection failure associated with the base station and the wireless device, wherein the radio link failure report indicates:

a cell identifier of the first cell; and

a subcarrier spacing of the BWP associated with the connection failure.

12. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the radio link failure report is received from the wireless device.

13. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the radio link failure report is received from a second base station that received the radio link failure report from the wireless device.

14. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the radio link failure report further indicates a bandwidth of the BWP.

15. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the configuration parameters are transmitted in a radio resource control (RRC) message, wherein the configuration parameters comprise:

an index of the BWP;

a first parameter indicating a bandwidth of the BWP; and

a second parameter indicating the subcarrier spacing of the BWP, and wherein the radio link failure report comprises the first parameter; and the second parameter.

16. The base station of claim 15 , wherein the RRC message comprises the cell identifier of the first cell.

17. The base station of claim 15 , wherein the configuration parameters comprise BWP configuration parameters of BWPs of the first cell, wherein the BWPs comprises the BWP, and wherein the BWP configuration parameters comprise the index, the first parameter, and the second parameter.

18. The base station of claim 17 , wherein the radio link failure report comprises at least one of:

a failure cause parameter indicating a cause of the connection failure;

a default BWP index of a default BWP of the BWPs; or

an initial BWP index of an initial BWP of the BWPs.

19. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the base station to:

transmit, to the wireless device, an information request message requesting the radio link failure report, wherein the information request message is in response to the wireless device performing, based on the connection failure, a random access to a second cell of the base station.

20. A system comprising:

a base station comprising:

one or more first processors; and

first memory storing first instructions that, when executed by the one or more first processors, cause the base station to transmit configuration parameters of a first cell comprising a bandwidth part (BWP); and

a wireless device comprising:

one or more second processors; and

second memory storing second instructions that, when executed by the one or more second processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive the configuration parameters;

detect a connection failure associated with the base station; and

transmit a radio link failure report indicating the connection failure, wherein the radio link failure report indicates:

a cell identifier of the first cell; and

a subcarrier spacing of the BWP associated with the connection failure; and

wherein the base station receives the radio link failure report from one of:

the wireless device; or

a second base station receiving the radio link failure report from the wireless device.
