Abstract

Systems, methods, and media for correlating information corresponding to multiple related frames on a web page are provided. In some embodiments, a method for identifying corresponding iframes on a web page to a server is provided, the method comprising: loading a web page including a plurality of iframes; receiving the requested content and identifying information for a first iframe; loading an event listener; determining a location of the first iframe in the structure of the web page; transmitting a message to a second iframe including the first identifying information and location of the first iframe; receiving, using the event listener, a message from the second iframe including second identifying information and location of the second iframe; determining that the second iframe is nested within the first iframe; and transmitting a third message to a server including at least the second identifying information and location of the second iframe.

Claims (37)

1 . A method for identifying corresponding frames on a web page, the method comprising:

determining, using a hardware processor, a location of a first frame within a structure of the web page;

transmitting, using the hardware processor, a first message to at least one frame of a plurality of frames associated with the web page that includes the location of the first frame within the structure of the web page;

receiving, using the hardware processor, at least one response to the first message from the at least one frame of the plurality of frames, wherein the at least one response includes a location of a second frame in the structure of the web page;

determining, using the hardware processor, that the second frame is contained within the first frame based on the at least one response to the first message from the at least one frame of the plurality of frames;

transmitting, using the hardware processor, a second message to a server including a structural accounting of frames associated with the web page that represents the location of the first frame in the structure of the web page in relation to the location of the second frame in the structure of the web page;

receiving, using an event listener loaded in a web browsing environment, an additional response message from a third frame that includes at least identifying information associated with the third frame and information identifying a location of the third frame in the structure of the web page; and

determining, using the hardware processor, that the first frame is contained within the third frame based on the information identifying the location of the third frame.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first message includes first identifying information associated with the first frame and wherein the at least one response to the first message includes second identifying information associated with the second frame.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the structural accounting includes the first identifying information associated with the first frame and the second identifying information associated with the second frame.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one response message and the additional response message each include timing information indicating when the respective response message was sent.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the method further comprises determining a latency for each of the at least one response message and the additional response message based on a time at which the first message was received and the time when the respective response message was sent, wherein the second message further includes the latency determined for each of the at least one response message and the additional response message.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises formatting the second message such that information for the first frame comes after information for the third frame and information for the second frame comes after information for the first frame.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the structural accounting is represented in a tree structure that includes the location of the first frame in the structure of the web page and the location of the second frame in the structure of the web page.

8 . A system for identifying corresponding frames on a web page, the system comprising:

a hardware processor that:

determines a location of a first frame within a structure of the web page;

transmits a first message to at least one frame of a plurality of frames associated with the web page that includes the location of the first frame within the structure of the web page;

receives at least one response to the first message from the at least one frame of the plurality of frames, wherein the at least one response includes a location of a second frame in the structure of the web page;

determines that the second frame is contained within the first frame based on the at least one response to the first message from the at least one frame of the plurality of frames;

transmits a second message to a server including a structural accounting of frames associated with the web page that represents the location of the first frame in the structure of the web page in relation to the location of the second frame in the structure of the web page;

receives, using an event listener loaded in a web browsing environment, an additional response message from a third frame that includes at least identifying information associated with the third frame and information identifying a location of the third frame in the structure of the web page; and

determines that the first frame is contained within the third frame based on the information identifying the location of the third frame.

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the first message includes first identifying information associated with the first frame and wherein the at least one response to the first message includes second identifying information associated with the second frame.

10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the structural accounting includes the first identifying information associated with the first frame and the second identifying information associated with the second frame.

11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one response message and the additional response message each include timing information indicating when the respective response message was sent.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the hardware processor further determines a latency for each of the at least one response message and the additional response message based on a time at which the first message was received and the time when the respective response message was sent, wherein the second message further includes the latency determined for each of the at least one response message and the additional response message.

13 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the hardware processor further formats the second message such that information for the first frame comes after information for the third frame and information for the second frame comes after information for the first frame.

14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the structural accounting is represented in a tree structure that includes the location of the first frame in the structure of the web page and the location of the second frame in the structure of the web page.

15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing computer executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method for identifying corresponding frames on a web page to a server, the method comprising:

determining a location of a first frame within a structure of the web page;

transmitting a first message to at least one frame of a plurality of frames associated with the web page that includes the location of the first frame within the structure of the web page;

receiving at least one response to the first message from the at least one frame of the plurality of frames, wherein the at least one response includes a location of a second frame in the structure of the web page;

determining that the second frame is contained within the first frame based on the at least one response to the first message from the at least one frame of the plurality of frames; and

transmitting a second message to a server including a structural accounting of frames associated with the web page that represents the location of the first frame in the structure of the web page in relation to the location of the second frame in the structure of the web page;

receiving, using an event listener loaded in a web browsing environment, an additional response message from a third frame that includes at least identifying information associated with the third frame and information identifying a location of the third frame in the structure of the web page; and

determining that the first frame is contained within the third frame based on the information identifying the location of the third frame.
