Abstract

Disclosed is an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display comprising a substrate; an organic light emitting element disposed on the substrate; an encapsulation substrate disposed on the organic light emitting element; and an adhesive layer formed on the substrate, covering the organic light emitting element, and bonding the substrate on which the organic light emitting element is formed with the encapsulation substrate.

Claims (210)

1. An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display comprising:

a first substrate;

an organic light emitting element on the first substrate;

a second substrate on the organic light emitting element; and

a barrier layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier layer covering the organic light emitting element,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a thermally curable resin or a photocurable resin,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a first portion and a second portion located between the first portion and the organic light emitting element,

wherein the first portion comprises more than about 5 to about 50 parts by weight of a hygroscopic material based on 100 parts by weight of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, and

wherein the second portion does not comprise the hygroscopic material.

2. The OLED display of claim 1 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a same kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin.

3. The OLED display of claim 2 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are formed as one integrated layer without an interface between the first portion and the second portion.

4. The OLED display of claim 1 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material comprises calcium oxide (CaO).

5. The OLED display of claim 1 ,

wherein the second portion comprises a silicon compound.

6. The OLED display of claim 5 ,

wherein the second portion comprises silica.

7. The OLED display of claim 1 , further comprising:

a driving circuit on the first substrate,

wherein the organic light emitting element is on the driving circuit.

8. The OLED display of claim 1 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a different kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, respectively.

9. The OLED display of claim 8 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are separated from each other in a thickness direction of the barrier layer.

10. The OLED display of claim 1 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material has a particle diameter of about 10 nm to about 20 μm.

11. The OLED display of claim 1 ,

wherein a thickness of the barrier layer is about 5 μm to about 50 μm.

12. An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display comprising:

a first substrate;

an organic light emitting element on the first substrate;

a second substrate on the organic light emitting element; and

a barrier layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier layer covering the organic light emitting element,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a thermally curable resin or a photocurable resin,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a first portion and a second portion located between the first portion and the organic light emitting element,

wherein the first portion comprises more than about 15 to about 50 parts by weight of a hygroscopic material based on 100 parts by weight of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, and

wherein the second portion does not comprise the hygroscopic material.

13. The OLED display of claim 12 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a same kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin.

14. The OLED display of claim 13 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are formed as one integrated layer without an interface between the first portion and the second portion.

15. The OLED display of claim 12 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material comprises calcium oxide (CaO).

16. The OLED display of claim 12 ,

wherein the second portion comprises a silicon compound.

17. The OLED display of claim 16 ,

wherein the second portion comprises silica.

18. The OLED display of claim 12 , further comprising:

a driving circuit on the first substrate,

wherein the organic light emitting element is on the driving circuit.

19. The OLED display of claim 12 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a different kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, respectively.

20. The OLED display of claim 19 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are separated from each other in a thickness direction of the barrier layer.

21. The OLED display of claim 12 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material has a particle diameter of about 10 nm to about 20 μm.

22. The OLED display of claim 12 ,

wherein a thickness of the barrier layer is about 5 μm to about 50 μm.

23. An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display comprising:

a first substrate;

an organic light emitting element on the first substrate;

a second substrate on the organic light emitting element; and

a barrier layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier layer covering the organic light emitting element,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a thermally curable resin or a photocurable resin,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a first portion and a second portion located between the first portion and the organic light emitting element,

wherein the first portion comprises more than about 15 to about 20 parts by weight of a hygroscopic material based on 100 parts by weight of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, and

wherein the second portion does not comprise the hygroscopic material.

24. The OLED display of claim 23 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a same kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin.

25. The OLED display of claim 24 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are formed as one integrated layer without an interface between the first portion and the second portion.

26. The OLED display of claim 23 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material comprises calcium oxide (CaO).

27. The OLED display of claim 23 ,

wherein the second portion comprises a silicon compound.

28. The OLED display of claim 27 ,

wherein the second portion comprises silica.

29. The OLED display of claim 23 , further comprising:

a driving circuit on the first substrate,

wherein the organic light emitting element is on the driving circuit.

30. The OLED display of claim 23 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a different kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, respectively.

31. The OLED display of claim 30 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are separated from each other in a thickness direction of the barrier layer.

32. The OLED display of claim 23 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material has a particle diameter of about 10 nm to about 20 μm.

33. The OLED display of claim 23 ,

wherein a thickness of the barrier layer is about 5 μm to about 50 μm.

34. An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display comprising:

a first substrate;

an organic light emitting element on the first substrate;

a second substrate on the organic light emitting element; and

a barrier layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier layer covering the organic light emitting element,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a thermally curable resin or a photocurable resin,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a first portion and a second portion located between the first portion and the organic light emitting element,

wherein the first portion comprises more than about 20 to about 25 parts by weight of a hygroscopic material based on 100 parts by weight of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, and

wherein the second portion does not comprise the hygroscopic material.

35. The OLED display of claim 34 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a same kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin.

36. The OLED display of claim 35 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are formed as one integrated layer without an interface between the first portion and the second portion.

37. The OLED display of claim 34 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material comprises calcium oxide (CaO).

38. The OLED display of claim 34 ,

wherein the second portion comprises a silicon compound.

39. The OLED display of claim 38 ,

wherein the second portion comprises silica.

40. The OLED display of claim 34 , further comprising:

a driving circuit on the first substrate,

wherein the organic light emitting element is on the driving circuit.

41. The OLED display of claim 34 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a different kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, respectively.

42. The OLED display of claim 41 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are separated from each other in a thickness direction of the barrier layer.

43. The OLED display of claim 34 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material has a particle diameter of about 10 nm to about 20 μm.

44. The OLED display of claim 34 ,

wherein a thickness of the barrier layer is about 5 μm to about 50 μm.

45. An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display comprising:

a first substrate;

an organic light emitting element on the first substrate;

a second substrate on the organic light emitting element; and

a barrier layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier layer covering the organic light emitting element,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a thermally curable resin or a photocurable resin,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a first portion and a second portion located between the first portion and the organic light emitting element,

wherein the first portion comprises more than about 25 to about 30 parts by weight of a hygroscopic material based on 100 parts by weight of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, and

wherein the second portion does not comprise the hygroscopic material.

46. The OLED display of claim 45 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a same kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin.

47. The OLED display of claim 46 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are formed as one integrated layer without an interface between the first portion and the second portion.

48. The OLED display of claim 45 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material comprises calcium oxide (CaO).

49. The OLED display of claim 45 ,

wherein the second portion comprises a silicon compound.

50. The OLED display of claim 49 ,

wherein the second portion comprises silica.

51. The OLED display of claim 45 , further comprising:

a driving circuit on the first substrate,

wherein the organic light emitting element is on the driving circuit.

52. The OLED display of claim 45 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise a different kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, respectively.

53. The OLED display of claim 52 ,

wherein the first portion and the second portion are separated from each other in a thickness direction of the barrier layer.

54. The OLED display of claim 45 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material has a particle diameter of about 10 nm to about 20 μm.

55. The OLED display of claim 45 ,

wherein a thickness of the barrier layer is about 5 μm to about 50 μm.

56. An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display comprising:

a first substrate,

an organic light emitting element,

a second substrate on the organic light emitting element; and

a barrier layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier layer covering the organic light emitting element,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a thermally curable resin or a photocurable resin,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a first layer and a second layer located between the first layer and the organic light emitting element,

wherein the first layer comprises more than about 5 to about 50 parts by weight of a hygroscopic material based on 100 parts by weight of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, and

wherein the second layer does not comprise the hygroscopic material.

57. The OLED display of claim 56 ,

wherein the first layer and the second layer comprise a same kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin.

58. The OLED display of claim 57 ,

wherein the first layer and the second layer are formed as one integrated layer without an interface between the first layer and the second layer.

59. The OLED display of claim 56 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material comprises calcium oxide (CaO).

60. The OLED display of claim 56 ,

wherein the second layer comprises a silicon compound.

61. The OLED display of claim 60 ,

wherein the second layer comprises silica.

62. The OLED display of claim 56 , further comprising:

a driving circuit on the first substrate,

wherein the organic light emitting element is on the driving circuit.

63. The OLED display of claim 56 ,

wherein the first layer and the second layer comprise a different kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, respectively.

64. The OLED display of claim 63 ,

wherein the first layer and the second layer are separated from each other in a thickness direction of the barrier layer.

65. The OLED display of claim 56 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material has a particle diameter of about 10 nm to about 20 μm.

66. The OLED display of claim 56 ,

wherein a thickness of the barrier layer is about 5 μm to about 50 μm.

67. An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display comprising:

a first substrate,

an organic light emitting element,

a second substrate on the organic light emitting element; and

a barrier layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier layer covering the organic light emitting element,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a thermally curable resin or a photocurable resin,

wherein the barrier layer comprises a first layer and a second layer located between the first layer and the organic light emitting element,

wherein the first layer comprises more than about 15 to about 50 parts by weight of a hygroscopic material based on 100 parts by weight of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, and

wherein the second layer does not comprise the hygroscopic material.

68. The OLED display of claim 67 ,

wherein the first layer and the second layer comprise a same kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin.

69. The OLED display of claim 68 ,

wherein the first layer and the second layer are formed as one integrated layer without an interface between the first layer and the second layer.

70. The OLED display of claim 67 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material comprises calcium oxide (CaO).

71. The OLED display of claim 67 ,

wherein the second layer comprises a silicon compound.

72. The OLED display of claim 71 ,

wherein the second layer comprises silica.

73. The OLED display of claim 67 , further comprising:

a driving circuit on the first substrate,

wherein the organic light emitting element is on the driving circuit.

74. The OLED display of claim 67 ,

wherein the first layer and the second layer comprise a different kind of the thermally curable resin or the photocurable resin, respectively.

75. The OLED display of claim 74 ,

wherein the first layer and the second layer are separated from each other in a thickness direction of the barrier layer.

76. The OLED display of claim 67 ,

wherein the hygroscopic material has a particle diameter of about 10 nm to about 20 μm.

77. The OLED display of claim 67 ,

wherein a thickness of the barrier layer is about 5 μm to about 50 μm.
