Abstract

A filling aid device for filling a reservoir. The device includes a cover portion comprising a septum window; a slider beam comprising a septum cover; and a first filling aid tab attached to the slider beam, the first filling aid tab in slidable relation to the cover from a first position to a second position, wherein when the filling aid device is in an unlocked position, the septum cover is located below the septum window, wherein when the first filling aid tab is moved from the first position to the second position, the septum cover is moved from below the septum window, and the filling aid device is in the locked position.

Claims (12)

1. A method of priming a disposable housing assembly having a reservoir, the reservoir fluidly connected to a fluid path having a reservoir valve, a pump chamber, and a check valve, the method comprising:

providing a reusable priming portion having a reservoir valve plunger, a pump chamber plunger and a check valve plunger;

releasably engaging the reusable priming portion to the disposable housing assembly;

actuating the reservoir valve plunger to open and close the reservoir valve;

actuating the pump chamber plunger to open and close the pump chamber;

actuating the check valve plunger to open and close the check valve;

flowing fluid through the fluid path wherein the actuation of the reservoir valve plunger, the pump chamber plunger the check valve plunger remove air from the fluid path to prime the disposable housing assembly; and

releasing the reusable priming portion from the disposable housing assembly.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the disposable housing assembly has a membrane over the pump chamber and the pump chamber plunger pushes on the membrane.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the disposable housing assembly has a membrane over the reservoir valve and the reservoir valve plunger pushes on the membrane.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the disposable housing assembly has a membrane over the check valve and the check valve plunger pushes on the membrane.

5. The method of claim 2 , wherein when the pump chamber plunger pushes on the membrane, the pump chamber is fully evacuated.
