Abstract

Systems/methods are disclosed whereby a device is configured to provide a first wireless service by using one or more auxiliary devices that is/are proximate thereto and is/are associated with unique identities known to the device. Also, a second wireless service is provided by the device by using one or more other auxiliary devices that is/are proximate thereto but is/are not associated with any specific unique identities known to the device. According to some embodiments, the first wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth protocol and an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) Protocol, the second wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth Protocol and the device comprises a smartphone.

Claims (47)

1. A system comprising a device that is configured to provide a first wireless service by using one or more auxiliary devices that is/are associated therewith and is/are proximate thereto; and is further configured to provide a second wireless service by using one or more other auxiliary devices that is/are not associated therewith and is/are proximate thereto;

wherein the device is configured to provide the first wireless service responsive to one or more unique identities having been associated, respectively, with the one or more auxiliary devices;

wherein the device is further configured to provide the second wireless service absent any of said unique identities having been associated with any one of the one or more other auxiliary devices;

wherein the first wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth protocol and an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) Protocol; and

wherein the second wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth Protocol.

2. The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more auxiliary devices;

wherein the device comprises a smartphone; and

wherein the device is further configured to detect/identify the one or more auxiliary devices that are associated therewith and/or the one or more auxiliary devices are configured to detect/identify the device that comprises the smartphone.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the device comprises a smartphone; and wherein the device is further configured to detect/identify the one or more auxiliary devices that are associated therewith.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the device comprises an access point that is associated with a specific structure.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein said proximate comprises 100 feet or less; 30 feet or less; or 10 feet or less.

6. A method comprising:

providing a first wireless service by a device, by using one or more auxiliary devices that is/are associated with the device and is/are proximate to the device;

providing a second wireless service by the device, by using one or more other auxiliary devices that is/are not associated with the device and is/are proximate to the device;

providing the first wireless service by the device responsive to one or more unique identities having been associated, respectively, with the one or more auxiliary devices; and

providing the second wireless service by the device absent any of said unique identities having been associated with any one of the one or more other auxiliary devices;

wherein the first wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth protocol and an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) Protocol; and

wherein the second wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth Protocol.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the device comprises a smartphone; the method further comprising:

detecting/identifying the one or more auxiliary devices that are associated with the device.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the device comprises an access point that is associated with a specific structure.

9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the proximity condition comprises 100 feet or less; 30 feet or less; or 10 feet or less.

10. A system comprising:

one or more auxiliary devices that is/are associated with a first device and is/are configured to provide a first wireless service when proximate to the first device responsive to one or more unique identities having been associated, respectively, with the one or more auxiliary devices;

wherein the one or more auxiliary devices is/are further configured to provide a second wireless service when proximate to a second device that is not associated therewith, absent any special access code having been provided to any of the one or more auxiliary devices;

wherein the first wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth protocol and an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) Protocol; and

wherein the second wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth Protocol.

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the one or more auxiliary devices is/are further configured to detect/identify the first device and/or the second device.

12. The system of claim 10 , further comprising the first device;

wherein the first device comprises a smartphone; and

wherein the first device is configured to detect/identify the one or more auxiliary devices that is/are associated therewith.

13. The system of claim 10 , further comprising the first device;

wherein the first device comprises an access point that is associated with a specific structure; and

wherein the first device is configured to detect/identify the one or more auxiliary devices that is/are associated therewith.

14. The system of claim 10 , wherein said proximate comprises 100 feet or less; 30 feet or less; or 10 feet or less.

15. A method comprising:

providing a first wireless service by using one or more auxiliary devices that is/are associated with a first device and is/are proximate to the first device, responsive to one or more unique identities having been provided, respectively, to said one or more auxiliary devices; and

providing a second wireless service by using the one or more auxiliary devices when the one or more auxiliary devices is/are proximate to a second device that is not associated therewith, absent any special access code having been provided to any of the one or more auxiliary devices;

wherein the first wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth protocol and an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) Protocol; and

wherein the second wireless service is based upon a Bluetooth Protocol.

16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising:

detecting/identifying by the one or more auxiliary devices the first device and/or the second device.

17. The method of claim 15 , wherein the first device comprises a smartphone; the method further comprising:

detecting/identifying by the first device the one or more auxiliary devices that is/are associated therewith.

18. The method of claim 15 , wherein the first device comprises an access point that is associated with a specific structure; the method further comprising:

detecting/identifying by the first device the one or more auxiliary devices that is/are associated therewith.

19. The system of claim 15 , wherein said proximate comprises 100 feet or less; 30 feet or less; or 10 feet or less.
