Abstract

A wireless device may receive at least one control message. The at least one control message may comprise at least one pathloss reference parameter that may indicate a downlink carrier.

Claims (94)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device from a base station, at least one control message comprising a pathloss reference parameter that:

is associated with a secondary cell in a secondary cell group of a plurality of cell groups that comprises the secondary cell and a primary cell; and

indicates, as a pathloss reference, a downlink carrier of the primary cell in the secondary cell group; and

transmitting, based on the pathloss reference parameter, an uplink signal via the secondary cell.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a second pathloss reference parameter associated with a second secondary cell, the method further comprising transmitting, based on the second pathloss reference parameter, an uplink signal via the second secondary cell.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the second secondary cell is based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pathloss reference parameter is a binary information element.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a timer value for a time alignment timer, and wherein the time alignment timer is associated with the secondary cell group.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the time alignment timer indicates a duration of time associated with uplink time alignment of the secondary cell group.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a media access control (MAC) timing advance command, wherein the MAC timing advance command is for one of the plurality of cell groups.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is based on a measurement of a received power of a downlink signal on the downlink carrier indicated by the pathloss reference parameter.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is further based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

10. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a base station, at least one control message comprising a pathloss reference parameter that:

is associated with a secondary cell in a secondary cell group of a plurality of cell groups that comprises the secondary cell and a primary cell; and

indicates, as a pathloss reference, a downlink carrier of the primary cell in the secondary cell group; and

receiving, via the secondary cell, an uplink signal that is transmitted based on the pathloss reference parameter.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a second pathloss reference parameter associated with a second secondary cell, the method further comprising receiving, via the second secondary cell, an uplink signal that is transmitted based on the second pathloss reference parameter.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the second secondary cell is based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the pathloss reference parameter is a binary information element.

14. The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a timer value for a time alignment timer, and wherein the time alignment timer is associated with the secondary cell group.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the time alignment timer indicates a duration of time associated with uplink time alignment of the secondary cell group.

16. The method of claim 10 , further comprising transmitting a media access control (MAC) timing advance command, wherein the MAC timing advance command is for one of the plurality of cell groups.

17. The method of claim 10 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is based on a measurement of a received power of a downlink signal on the downlink carrier indicated by the pathloss reference parameter.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is further based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

19. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the wireless device to:

receive, from a base station, at least one control message comprising a pathloss reference parameter that:

is associated with a secondary cell in a secondary cell group of a plurality of cell groups that comprises the secondary cell and a primary cell; and

indicates, as a pathloss reference, a downlink carrier of the primary cell in the secondary cell group; and

transmit, based on the pathloss reference parameter, an uplink signal via the secondary cell.

20. The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a second pathloss reference parameter associated with a second secondary cell, and wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

transmit, based on the second pathloss reference parameter, an uplink signal via the second secondary cell.

21. The wireless device of claim 20 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the second secondary cell is based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

22. The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the pathloss reference parameter is a binary information element.

23. The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a timer value for a time alignment timer, and wherein the time alignment timer is associated with the secondary cell group.

24. The wireless device of claim 23 , wherein the time alignment timer indicates a duration of time associated with uplink time alignment of the secondary cell group.

25. The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

receive a media access control (MAC) timing advance command, wherein the MAC timing advance command is for one of the plurality of cell groups.

26. The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is based on a measurement of a received power of a downlink signal on the downlink carrier indicated by the pathloss reference parameter.

27. The wireless device of claim 26 , wherein the transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is further based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

28. A base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the base station to:

transmit at least one control message comprising a pathloss reference parameter that:

is associated with a secondary cell in a secondary cell group of a plurality of cell groups that comprises the secondary cell and a primary cell; and

indicates, as a pathloss reference, a downlink carrier of the primary cell in the secondary cell group; and

receive, via the secondary cell, an uplink signal that is transmitted based on the pathloss reference parameter.

29. The base station of claim 28 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a second pathloss reference parameter associated with a second secondary cell, and wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the base station to:

receive, via the second secondary cell, an uplink signal that is transmitted based on the second pathloss reference parameter.

30. The base station of claim 29 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the second secondary cell is based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

31. The base station of claim 28 , wherein the pathloss reference parameter is a binary information element.

32. The base station of claim 28 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a timer value for a time alignment timer, and wherein the time alignment timer is associated with the secondary cell group.

33. The base station of claim 32 , wherein the time alignment timer indicates a duration of time associated with uplink time alignment of the secondary cell group.

34. The base station of claim 28 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the base station to:

transmit a media access control (MAC) timing advance command, wherein the MAC timing advance command is for one of the plurality of cell groups.

35. The base station of claim 28 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is based on a measurement of a received power of a downlink signal on the downlink carrier indicated by the pathloss reference parameter.

36. The base station of claim 35 , wherein the transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is further based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

37. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a wireless device to:

receive, from a base station, at least one control message comprising a pathloss reference parameter that:

is associated with a secondary cell in a secondary cell group of a plurality of cell groups that comprises the secondary cell and a primary cell; and

indicates, as a pathloss reference, a downlink carrier of the primary cell in the secondary cell group; and

transmit, based on the pathloss reference parameter, an uplink signal via the secondary cell.

38. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a second pathloss reference parameter associated with a second secondary cell, and wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

transmit, based on the second pathloss reference parameter, an uplink signal via the second secondary cell.

39. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the pathloss reference parameter is a binary information element.

40. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a timer value for a time alignment timer, and wherein the time alignment timer is associated with the secondary cell group.

41. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is based on a measurement of a received power of a downlink signal on the downlink carrier indicated by the pathloss reference parameter.

42. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 41 , wherein the transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is further based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

43. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a base station to:

transmit at least one control message comprising a pathloss reference parameter that:

is associated with a secondary cell in a secondary cell group of a plurality of cell groups that comprises the secondary cell and a primary cell; and

indicates, as a pathloss reference, a downlink carrier of the primary cell in the secondary cell group; and

receive, via the secondary cell, an uplink signal that is transmitted based on the pathloss reference parameter.

44. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 43 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a second pathloss reference parameter associated with a second secondary cell, and wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the base station to:

receive, via the second secondary cell, an uplink signal that is transmitted based on the second pathloss reference parameter.

45. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 43 , wherein the pathloss reference parameter is a binary information element.

46. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 43 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a timer value for a time alignment timer, and wherein the time alignment timer is associated with the secondary cell group.

47. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 43 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is based on a measurement of a received power of a downlink signal on the downlink carrier indicated by the pathloss reference parameter.

48. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 47 , wherein the transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is further based on at least one power control parameter in the at least one control message.

49. A system comprising:

a base station; and

a wireless device,

wherein the base station is configured to transmit at least one control message comprising a pathloss reference parameter that:

is associated with a secondary cell in a secondary cell group of a plurality of cell groups that comprises the secondary cell and a primary cell; and

indicates, as a pathloss reference, a downlink carrier of the primary cell in the secondary cell group, and

wherein the wireless device is configured to transmit, based on the pathloss reference parameter, an uplink signal via the secondary cell.

50. The system of claim 49 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a second pathloss reference parameter associated with a second secondary cell, and wherein the wireless device is further configured to:

transmit, based on the second pathloss reference parameter, an uplink signal via the second secondary cell.

51. The system of claim 49 , wherein the pathloss reference parameter is a binary information element.

52. The system of claim 49 , wherein the at least one control message further comprises a timer value for a time alignment timer, and wherein the time alignment timer is associated with the secondary cell group.

53. The system of claim 49 , wherein a transmission power of the uplink signal via the secondary cell is based on a measurement of a received power of a downlink signal on the downlink carrier indicated by the pathloss reference parameter.
