Abstract

A system for facilitating communication between layer 2 networks is disclosed. The system may include a first layer 2 network and a second layer 2 network. One or more of the first or second layer 2 network may include a communication platform that is configured to define a protocol for establishing communication between the first and second layer 2 network. Furthermore, based at least in part on the protocol, a bridge may be generated that communicatively couples the first and second layer 2 networks. In some embodiments, generating a bridge may include generating a smart contract to facilitate communication between the first and second layer 2 networks.

Claims (39)

1 . A method for enabling communication between layer 2 networks, the method comprising:

generating a bridge coupling a first layer 2 solution and a second layer 2 solution, wherein the first layer 2 solution is coupled with a layer 1 blockchain, wherein the second layer 2 solution is coupled with the layer 1 blockchain, and wherein the bridge comprises a smart contract; and

transferring a digital asset from the first layer 2 solution to the second layer 2 solution, wherein transferring the digital asset comprises executing the smart contract, locking the digital asset on the first layer 2 solution, and minting a second digital asset corresponding to the digital asset on the second layer 2 solution, wherein transferring the digital asset causes only a single transaction with the layer 1 blockchain to be executed.

2 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the first layer 2 solution is a first sidechain; and

wherein the second layer 2 solution is a second sidechain.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising automatically destroying the bridge in response to receiving an alert associated with the external layer 2 network.

4 . A platform for enabling communication between layer 2 networks, the platform comprising:

a processor; and

memory;

wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the platform to:

generate a bridge coupling a first layer 2 solution and a second layer 2 solution, wherein the first layer 2 solution is coupled with a layer 1 blockchain, wherein the second layer 2 solution is coupled with the layer 1 blockchain, and wherein the bridge comprises a smart contract; and

transfer a digital asset from the first layer 2 solution to the second layer 2 solution, wherein transferring the digital asset comprises executing the smart contract, locking the digital asset on the first layer 2 solution, and minting a second digital asset corresponding to the digital asset on the second layer 2 solution, wherein transferring the digital asset causes only a single transaction with the layer 1 blockchain to be executed.

5 . A system for facilitating communication between layer 2 networks, the system comprising:

a first layer 2 network comprising a first layer 2 solution comprising a token associated with a first user, a first bridge coupling the first layer 2 solution with a layer 1 blockchain, and a layer 2 communication platform comprising a processor and memory storing instructions;

a second layer 2 network comprising a second layer 2 solution and a second bridge coupling the second layer 2 solution with the layer 1 blockchain;

wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the layer 2 communication platform to:

generate a third bridge comprising a smart contract coupling the first layer 2 solution and the second layer 2 solution; and

transfer an asset from the first user to a second user associated with the second layer 2 network by executing the smart contract, wherein executing the smart contract comprises locking the token on the first layer 2 solution and minting a second token corresponding to the token on the second layer 2 solution, wherein transferring the asset causes only a single transaction with the layer 1 blockchain to be executed.

6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the layer 2 communication platform comprises an artificial intelligence system.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the artificial intelligence system is configured to monitor a security or privacy of the first layer 2 network and to define the protocol based on a data structure associated with the second layer 2 network.

8 . The system of claim 6 ,

wherein the first layer 2 solution is a sidechain; and

wherein the artificial intelligence system is further configured to analyze transactions processed by the sidechain.

9 . The system of claim 6 ,

wherein the artificial intelligence system is configured to generate the third bridge; and

wherein the artificial intelligence system is configured to destroy the third bridge in response to an alert associated with the second layer 2 network.

10 . The system of claim 5 , further comprising an authentication system configured to perform an authentication of a user prior to granting access to the first layer 2 network.

11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the layer 2 communication platform is configured to route a communication from the user from the first layer 2 network to the second layer 2 network.

12 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the layer 2 communication platform is further configured to update a protocol for establishing communication between the first layer 2 network and the second layer 2 network in response to detecting a change of a data format associated with the second layer 2 network.

13 . The system of claim 5 , further comprising a plurality of external layer 2 networks communicatively coupled with the first layer 2 network.

14 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the first layer 2 network and the second layer 2 network are hosted by different organizations.

15 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the layer 1 blockchain is associated with Bitcoin or Ethereum transactions.

16 . The system of claim 5 ,

wherein the first layer 2 network includes an internal oracle; and

wherein layer 2 communication platform identifies the second layer 2 network by using the internal oracle.

17 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the first layer 2 solution is a first type of layer 2 solution and the second layer 2 solution is a second type of layer 2 solution.

18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the first layer 2 solution is a sidechain and the second layer 2 solution is a rollup.

19 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the first layer 2 network is associated with a first entity and wherein the second layer 2 network is associated with a second entity different from the first entity.
