Abstract

Coil pad for wireless power transfer having a front plane radiating an electromagnetic field during wireless power transfer, the coil pad having a circumference encompassing a positioning contour reflecting positioning options for at least one point-to-point communication element to be embedded into the front plane, the positioning contour having rotational symmetry with respect to a first axis of symmetry and a second axis of symmetry orthogonal to the first axis of symmetry, the first axis of symmetry and the second axis of symmetry intersecting at an origin and defining a coordinate system for the front plane, and the coil pad comprising a point-to-point communication element embedded into the front plane at an intersection of the positioning contour and a positioning hand extending from the origin along a first direction defined by a first angle of rotation in clockwise direction relative to the first axis of symmetry.
