Abstract

A quantum device includes a cryogenic chamber and a quantum computing module positioned within the cryogenic chamber. The quantum computing module includes a silicon substrate and a quantum circuit (QC) die including a qubit integrated circuit. The QC die is attached to the silicon substrate. An electronic circuit (EC) die including an electronic integrated circuit is attached to the QC die such that the qubit integrated circuit and the electronic integrated circuit face each other. The QC die can be fusion bonded to the EC die. A circuit board (CB) includes a power converter configured to convert input power received from a cryogenic chamber feedthrough to output power that is coupled to the QC die and to the EC die.

Claims (31)

1 . A device comprising:

a cryogenic chamber; and

a quantum computing module positioned within the cryogenic chamber and comprising:

a silicon substrate;

a quantum circuit (QC) die attached to the silicon substrate and comprising a qubit integrated circuit; and

a power converter coupled to the QC die and configured to convert input power received from a power source outside the cryogenic chamber to output power that is supplied to the QC die.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the quantum computing module further comprises an electronic circuit (EC) die attached to the QC die and comprising an electronic integrated circuit.

3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the qubit integrated circuit of the QC die and the electronic integrated circuit of the EC die face each other.

4 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the power converter supplies the output power to the QC die through the EC die.

5 . The device of claim 4 , wherein the EC die includes at least one through silicon via that supplies the output power to the electronic integrated circuit.

6 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the EC die includes at least one through silicon via that supplies the output power to the QC die.

7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the quantum circuit die comprises a photonic integrated circuit die.

8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the power converter is disposed on a circuit board (CB).

9 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the CB is attached to the silicon substrate.

10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the power source comprises an AC power source, and the power converter comprises an AC-to-DC converter.

11 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the power converter further comprises a power management circuit connected in series with the AC-to-DC converter.

12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the power management circuit comprises a plurality of DC-to-DC converters, each of the plurality of DC-to-DC converters being configured to output a DC voltage.

13 . A method comprising:

supplying electrical power to a cryogenic chamber;

converting the electrical power to one or more DC voltages using a power converter positioned within the cryogenic chamber; and

operating a quantum module positioned within the cryogenic chamber using the one or more DC voltages, the quantum module comprising:

a silicon substrate; and

a quantum circuit (QC) die attached to the silicon substrate and comprising a qubit integrated circuit, wherein the power converter is coupled to the QC die and configured to supply the one or more DC voltages to the QC die.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein operating the quantum module comprises delivering the one or more DC voltages to the QC die.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the quantum module further comprises an electronic circuit (EC) die attached to the QC die and comprising an electronic integrated circuit.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein operating the quantum module comprises delivering the one or more DC voltages to the QC die through the EC die.

17 . The method of claim 13 , wherein supplying the electrical power to the cryogenic chamber comprises supplying the electrical power to the cryogenic chamber through a feedthrough.

18 . The method of claim 13 , wherein converting the electrical power to the one or more DC voltages comprises:

converting the electrical power to a first DC voltage using an AC-to-DC converter of the power converter; and

converting the first DC voltage to the one or more DC voltages using one or more DC-to-DC converters of the power converter.

19 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising receiving the electrical power from a power source outside the cryogenic chamber.
