Abstract

A device may receive, by an intelligence analytics module of an intelligent dosing platform at least one applicable governance standard from a governance library. A device may determine, by the intelligence analytics module based on the at least one applicable governance standard, at least one analysis type to be performed regarding the request. A device may execute, by an artificial intelligence module of the intelligent dosing platform, the at least one analysis type with respect to the request according to the at least one applicable governance standard. A device may generate, based on a result of the at least one analysis type, a determination regarding whether to permit the requested dosage administration or the requested device control decision, wherein the determination accounts for compliance with the at least one applicable governance standard.

Claims (34)

1 . A method for governance-based decision-making in an intelligent medication administration platform, comprising:

receiving, by an intelligence analytics module of an intelligent dosing platform, a request related to at least one of a dosage administration or a device control decision for an intelligent injection device, wherein the intelligent injection device comprises a barrel in fluid communication with a needle, a piston positioned within the barrel, and a microprocessor in electronic communication with a wireless module;

determining, by the intelligence analytics module, a decision type associated with the request;

identifying, by the intelligence analytics module based on the decision type, at least one applicable governance standard from a governance library;

determining, by the intelligence analytics module based on the at least one applicable governance standard, at least one analysis type to be performed regarding the request;

executing, by an artificial intelligence module of the intelligent dosing platform, the at least one analysis type with respect to the request according to the at least one applicable governance standard;

generating, based on a result of the at least one analysis type, a determination regarding whether to permit the request related to the at least one of the dosage administration or the device control decision, wherein the determination accounts for compliance with the at least one applicable governance standard; and

transmitting, by the microprocessor to at least one of the intelligent injection device and an external system, an instruction based on the determination,

wherein the microprocessor of the intelligent injection device receives the instruction, and wherein the microprocessor of the intelligent injection device controls a locking mechanism of the intelligent injection device based on the instruction to permit or prevent medication administration.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the decision type is a control instruction decision.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the decision type is a medication authorization decision.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the decision type is a dosage validation decision.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the decision type is a operation decision for the intelligent injection device.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the governance library comprises a safety standard governing patient safety protocol.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the governance library comprises a legal standard governing regulatory compliance requirement.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the governance library comprises a regulatory standard governing pharmaceutical administration requirement.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the governance library comprises a quality standard governing medication quality and performance for the intelligent injection device.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one analysis type is a quality analysis.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one analysis type is a safety analysis.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one analysis type is a regulatory and legal analysis that implicates at least one of the device control decision and a medication administration decision.

13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instruction comprises an authorization signal.

14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instruction comprises an unlock signal for the locking mechanism.

15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instruction comprises an alert notification.

16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instruction comprises an alternative recommended action.

17 . An intelligent dosing platform system for governance-based decision-making in medication administration, comprising:

an intelligent injection device comprising a barrel having a first end and a second end configured to receive and store a pharmaceutical, a needle connected with the first end of the barrel and in fluid communication with the barrel, a piston positioned within the second end of the barrel, a microprocessor in electronic communication with a wireless module and configured to transmit administration data, and a locking mechanism engaged with the piston and configured to prevent injection based on an authorization signal received by the microprocessor;

an analysis module comprising an intelligence analytics module configured to receive a request related to at least one of a dosage administration and a device control decision for the intelligent injection device, determine a decision type associated with the request, identify based on the decision type at least

one applicable governance standard from a governance library, and determine based on the at least one applicable governance standard at least one analysis type to be performed regarding the request;

an artificial intelligence module configured to execute the at least one analysis type determined by the intelligence analytics module according to the at least one applicable governance standard, generate based on a result of the at least one analysis type a determination regarding whether to permit the request related to the at least one of the dosage administration or the device control decision, and output an instruction based on the determination;

a governance module comprising a regulatory standards module comprising a regulatory compliance rule, a legal standards module comprising a legal requirement rule, a quality standards module comprising a medication quality rule and a device quality rule, and a device standards module comprising a device operation rule, wherein the governance module provides the at least one applicable governance standard to the artificial intelligence module for application in the at least one analysis type; and

wherein the microprocessor of the intelligent injection device receives the instruction from the artificial intelligence module and controls the locking mechanism of the intelligent injection device based on the determination.

18 . The intelligent dosing platform system of claim 17 , wherein the governance module defines a scenario condition that necessitates execution of a particular analysis module type.

19 . The intelligent dosing platform system of claim 17 , wherein the locking mechanism permits medication administration when the determination indicates compliance with the at least one applicable governance standard.

20 . The intelligent dosing platform system of claim 17 , wherein the locking mechanism prevents medication administration when the determination indicates non-compliance with the at least one applicable governance standard.
