Abstract

An optical apparatus includes a variable optical-property element to change its optical properties by applying an electric or magnetic field or temperature to a liquid crystal. In this way, the optical apparatus is reduced in thickness, and can be used in a cam era, a microscope, etc.

Claims (39)

1. A variable optical-property element comprising

a mirror substrate; and

a coil,

wherein the mirror substrate is deformed by an electromagnetic force generated at the coil.

2. A variable optical-property element according to claim 1 , comprising a permanent magnet, wherein the mirror substrate is deformed by an electromagnetic force generated between the coil and the permanent magnet.

3. A variable optical-property element comprising:

a mirror substrate; and

a control device that controls a shave of the mirror substrate, wherein a ferroelectric is used in at least one region of the mirror substrate, and the control device controls the shape of the mirror substrate by a plurality of voltages or currents.

4. A variable optical-property element according to claim 2 , wherein the coil is formed on the mirror substrate.

5. A variable optical-property element according to claim 1 , comprising a plurality of the coils.

6. A variable optical-properly element comprising:

a mirror substrate; and

a coil,

wherein a ferroelectric is used in at least one region of the mirror substrate.

11. A variable optical-property element comprising:

a mirror substrate; and

at least one electrode unit having a plurality of electrodes,

wherein the mirror substrate is arranged in such a manner that an axis of incident light and an axis of emergent light lie only in one plane,

wherein a mirror surface of the minor substrate is deformable into a rotationally asymmetric shape, and

wherein a deformation of the mirror substrate is caused by an electrostatic force.

12. A variable optical-property element comprising a mirror substrate, wherein a material that is expansible and contractible by electricity is used in at least a part of the mirror substrate, and a mirror surface of the mirror substrate is shaped to have a length in one direction longer than a length in another direction.

13. A variable optical-property element comprising a mirror substrate having a reflecting surface, wherein a material that is expansible and contractible by electricity is used in at least a part of the mirror substrate, and the mirror substrate is arranged in such a manner that an axis of incident light and an axis of emergent light lie only in one plane.

14. A variable optical-property element comprising a mirror substrate, wherein a material that is expansible and contractible by electricity is used in at least a part of the mirror substrate, and a surface shape of the mirror substrate is deformable into a rotationally asymmetric shape.
