The present invention relates to novel compounds useful in the treatment of androgen receptor associated conditions, such as age-related diseases, pharmaceutical compositions containing at least one of the compounds of the present invention and methods of treating a patient in need of therapy for an androgen receptor associated condition by administering a therapeutically effective amount of at least compound of the present invention.
1. A Compound according to Formula I:
wherein:
R 1 and R 2 are each independently selected from the group consisting of H, substituted alkyl, alkenyl, substituted alkenyl, substituted arylalkyl, arylalkel and substituted arylalkenyl, or wherein R 1 and R 2 may be taken together to form a carbon-carbon double bond that is optionally substituted with one or more substituents chosen from the group consisting of H, alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkenyl, substituted alkenyl, arylalkyl, substituted arylalkyl, arylalkenyl and substituted arylalkenyl;
R 3 is H;
X is selected from the group consisting of O or NR 1 ;
G is a phenyl group, wherein said phenyl group is substituted with 4-CN, and said phenyl group is optionally substituted with one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of H, halo, CN, CF 3 , OR 4 , CO 2 R 4 , NR 4 R 4 ′, CONR 4 R 4 ′, CH 2 OR 4 , alkyl or substituted alkyl, alkenyl or substituted alkenyl, alkynyl or substituted alkynyl, cycloalkyl or substituted cycloalkyl, arylalkyl or substituted arylalkyl, aryl or substituted aryl and heteroaryl or substituted heteroaryl;
R 4 and R 4 ′ in each functional group are each independently selected from the group consisting of H, alkyl or substituted alkyl, alkenyl or substituted alkenyl, alkynyl or substituted alkynyl, cycloalkyl or substituted cycloalkyl, arylalkyl or substituted arylalkyl, aryl or substituted aryl, and heteroaryl or substituted heteroaryl; and
with the following provisos:
(a) when R 1 and R 2 are each CH 3 , G is not an aryl, wherein both ortho positions of the aryl are H; and
(b) when G is
R 1 is H.
2. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein: X is O.
3. The compound according to claim 2 , wherein G is optionally substituted with one or more substitutents selected from the group consisting of H, halo, CN and alkyl.
4. A pharmaceutical composition, comprising:
a compound according to claim 1 ; and
a pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvant or carrier.
