Abstract

An emergency notification uses a normal cellular telephone terminal instead of a dedicated terminal without requiring communication using a voice. An emergency notification system has a mobile communication network including a cellular telephone terminal, an emergency notification device for receiving an emergency notification, a communication line connecting the mobile communication network and the emergency notification device, and the cellular telephone terminal including display means for displaying a menu for identifying kind of emergency notification on a display screen and means for performing the emergency notification in response to selection of one of items in the menu by a user.

Claims (42)

1. An emergency notification system comprising:

a mobile communication network including a cellular telephone terminal;

an emergency notification device for receiving an emergency notification, said emergency notification device comprising a database, said database storing a unique ID uniquely associated with said cellular telephone terminal and personal information associated with said unique ID;

a communication line connecting said mobile communication network and said emergency notification device;

said cellular telephone terminal including display means for displaying a menu displaying at least a first and a second item for identifying respectively at least a first and a second, different emergency on a display screen, said emergency being other than GPS information; and

means for transmitting to said emergency notification device a first emergency notification in response to selection of a first one of said first and second items in said menu by a user of said terminal, and a second emergency notification in response to selection of a second of the first and second items in said menu, said first and second emergency notifications automatically identifying said unique ID of the cellular telephone terminal and said selected one of the first and second items to said emergency notification device without the need for voice communication, wherein each of the first emergency notification and second emergency notification is transmitted to the same emergency notification device,

wherein said emergency notification device includes means responsive to the first emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal for transmitting a message indicative of a first occurrence of a received emergency notification to at least a first telephone registered in relation to said cellular telephone terminal and means responsive to the second emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal for transmitting a message indicative of a second occurrence of a received emergency notification to a second telephone registered in relation to said cellular telephone terminal.

An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said emergency notification device includes means responsive to reception of the first or second emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal through said mobile communication network for checking whether said cellular telephone terminal is registered in the emergency notification system.

3. An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said cellular telephone terminal includes position measuring means, said emergency notification device includes means for receiving position information of said cellular telephone terminal from said position measuring means.

An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 3 , wherein said cellular telephone terminal includes means for displaying a menu for selecting whether transmission of position information is permitted or not, on the screen of said cellular telephone terminal, in response to a request for transmission of position information from said emergency notification device.

An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said emergency notification device includes means for transmitting a reception information indicative of reception of the first or second emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal, and said cellular telephone terminal includes means for generating vibration in response to reception of said reception information.

6. An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said cellular telephone terminal includes a camera for transmitting image information to said emergency notification device.

An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said first item corresponds to an ambulance emergency and said emergency notification device includes means responsive to the first or second emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal, for obtaining health data of a registered user in relation to said cellular telephone terminal from a hospital.

An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said emergency notification device includes a database storing a registration information including an ID number of said cellular telephone terminal and a personal information of a registrant on the basis of information received from said cellular telephone terminal.

9. An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said cellular telephone terminal includes means for transmitting a personal information on the basis of screen information for registration received from said emergency notification device.

10. An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein a screen information for displaying said menu is transmitted to said cellular telephone terminal from said emergency notification device.

11. An emergency notification system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said communication line connecting said mobile communication network and said emergency notification system is a dedicated line.

12. A broad area emergency notification system includes a plurality of emergency notification systems respectively connected to a plurality of mobile communication networks,

each of said emergency notification systems comprising:

a mobile communication network including a cellular telephone terminal;

an emergency notification device for receiving at least first and second different emergency notifications, said emergency notification device comprising a database, said database storing a unique ID uniquely associated with said cellular telephone terminal and personal information associated with said unique ID;

a communication line connecting said mobile communication network and said emergency notification device;

said cellular telephone terminal including display means for displaying a menu displaying at least a first and a second item for identifying respectively at least a first and a second, different emergency on a display screen said first and second emergencies being other than GPS information;

means for transmitting to said emergency notification device the first and second emergency notifications in response to selection of the first and second items respectively in said menu by a user of said terminal, said first and second emergency notifications automatically identifying said unique ID of the cellular telephone terminal and said selected item to said emergency notification device without the need for voice communication, wherein each of the first emergency notification and second emergency notification is transmitted to the same emergency notification device; and

said plurality of emergency notification systems being connected with each other through dedicated line,

wherein said emergency notification device includes means responsive to the first emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal for transmitting a message indicative of a first occurrence of a received emergency notification to at least a first telephone registered in relation to said cellular telephone terminal and means responsive to the second emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal for transmitting a message indicative of a second occurrence of a received emergency notification to a second telephone registered in relation to said cellular telephone terminal.

13. An emergency notification system comprising:

a mobile communication network including a cellular telephone terminal;

an emergency notification device for receiving an emergency notification, said emergency notification device comprising a database, said database storing a unique ID uniquely associated with said cellular telephone terminal and personal information associated with said unique ID;

a communication line connecting said mobile communication network and said emergency notification device;

said cellular telephone terminal including a display for displaying a menu displaying at least a first and a second item for identifying respectively at least a first and a second, different emergency on a display screen said emergencies being other than GPS information; and

a transmitting device for transmitting to said emergency notification device the first or second emergency notification in response to selection of one of said first and second items in said menu by a user of said terminal, said first or second emergency notification automatically identifying said unique ID of the cellular telephone terminal and said selected item to said emergency notification device without the need for voice communication, wherein each of the first emergency notification and second emergency notification is transmitted to the same emergency notification device,

wherein said emergency notification device includes means responsive to the first emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal for transmitting a message indicative of a first occurrence of a received emergency notification to at least a first telephone registered in relation to said cellular telephone terminal and means responsive to the second emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal for transmitting a message indicative of a second occurrence of a received emergency notification to a second telephone registered in relation to said cellular telephone terminal.

14. A broad area emergency notification system includes a plurality of emergency notification systems respectively connected to a plurality of mobile communication networks,

each of said emergency notification systems comprising:

a mobile communication network including a cellular telephone terminal;

an emergency notification device for receiving an emergency notification, said emergency notification device comprising a database, said database storing a unique ID uniquely associated with said cellular telephone terminal and personal information associated with said unique ID;

a communication line connecting said mobile communication network and said emergency notification device;

said cellular telephone terminal including a display for displaying a menu displaying at least a first and a second item for identifying respectively at least a first and a second, different emergency on a display screen said first and second emergencies being other than GPS information;

a transmitter for transmitting to said emergency notification device the emergency notification in response to selection of one of said first and second items in said menu by a user of said terminal, said emergency notification automatically identifying said unique ID of the cellular telephone terminal and said selected item to said emergency notification device without the need for voice communication, wherein each of the first emergency notification and second emergency notification is transmitted to the same emergency notification device; and

said plurality of emergency notification systems being connected with each other through dedicated line,

wherein said emergency notification device includes means responsive to the first emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal for transmitting a message indicative of a first occurrence of a received emergency notification to at least a first telephone registered in relation to said cellular telephone terminal and means responsive to the second emergency notification from said cellular telephone terminal for transmitting a message indicative of a second occurrence of a received emergency notification to a second telephone registered in relation to said cellular telephone terminal.
