Valve island having the expansion PC board secured in the expansion station
A valve island that has the PC board captured in the expansion station is disclosed. The PC board is held into the expansion station by a feature on the PC board that interferes with the inside of the wire-way of the expansion station sub-base.
1. An apparatus, comprising:
an expansion PC board for a valve island having a generally rectangular shape, the generally rectangular shape having a height where the height is configured to fit into an opening in a wire-way of a sub-base;
the expansion PC board having a front end and a back end where the front end is configured to be inserted into the wire-way;
a securing feature formed near the back end of the expansion PC board where the securing feature extends the height of the expansion PC board and where the height of the expansion PC board plus the securing feature is larger than the height of the opening in the wire-way.
2. The apparatus of claim 1 where the expansion PC board is a double expansion PC board.
3. The apparatus of claim 1 where the expansion PC board is a single expansion PC board.
4. The apparatus of claim 1 where the securing feature is on a bottom edge of the expansion PC board.
5. The apparatus of claim 4 where the securing feature is also on a top edge of the expansion PC board.
6. The apparatus of claim 1 where the securing feature is generally triangular in shape.
7. The apparatus of claim 1 where the securing feature has a generally curved shape.
8. The apparatus of claim 1 where the securing feature is generally rectangular in shape.
9. A method, comprising:
separating a sub-base from a valve island;
holding an expansion PC board into the sub-base with a securing feature while the sub-base is separated from the valve island.
10. A method, comprising:
forming an expansion PC board for a valve island with a generally rectangular shape, the generally rectangular shape having a height where the height is configured to fit into an opening in a wire-way of a sub-base; and
forming a securing feature near a back end of the expansion PC board where the securing feature extends the height of the expansion PC board and where the height of the expansion PC board plus the securing feature is larger than a height of the opening in the wire-way of the sub-base.
11. A device, comprising:
an expansion PC board for a valve island having a means for holding the expansion PC board into a wire-way of a sub-base when the sub-base is separated from the valve island.
