Abstract

A flue gas purification device includes a receptacle, which has an absorption zone, through which the supplied glue gas can flow in an essentially horizontal direction.

Claims (19)

1. A flue gas purification device comprising

a receptacle, an absorption zone, said absorption zone having a flue gas inlet, a flue gas outlet, a scrubbing liquid sump, and scrubbing liquid nozzles,

wherein supplied flue gas can flow in an essentially horizontal direction through said absorption zone;

wherein said scrubbing liquid sump is provided in a lower section of said receptacle and said scrubbing liquid nozzles are arranged in an upper section of said receptacle above said scrubbing liquid sump; and

wherein said absorption zone is between said scrubbing liquid nozzles and said scrubbing liquid sump;

wherein said receptacle is substantially a parallelepiped.

2. The device according to claim 1 , which further comprises a pump device.

3. The device according to claim 1 , which further comprises a scrubbing liquid analyser.

4. The device according to claim 3 , wherein said scrubbing liquid analyser continuously analyses scrubbing liquid samples.

5. The device according to claim 1 , wherein at least one side of said receptacle is formed such that the volume of said absorption zone increases or decreases from a flue gas inlet towards a flue gas outlet.

6. A method for flue gas purification, comprising

using the device according to claim 1 ;

guiding flue gas through the receptacle having an absorption zone in an essentially horizontal direction;

providing said absorption zone between scrubbing liquid nozzles in an upper section of said receptacle and a scrubbing liquid sump in a lower section of said receptacle;

atomizing scrubbing liquid by said scrubbing liquid nozzles in the upper section of said absorption zone towards said scrubbing liquid sump;

adding additives to the scrubbing liquid based on a result of a scrubbing liquid analysis.

7. The method according to claim 6 , further comprising pumping the scrubbing liquid from said scrubbing liquid sump to said scrubbing liquid nozzles.

8. The method according to claim 6 , further comprising extracting the scrubbing liquid from said scrubbing liquid sump based on a result of a scrubbing liquid analysis.

9. The method according to claim 6 , further comprising accelerating or slowing down the flue gas guided through said absorption area of said receptacle.
