Abstract

In accordance with the present invention, there are provided novel Siah-Mediated-Degradation-Proteins (SMDPs) and/or SCF-Complex Proteins (SCPs). Nucleic acid sequences encoding such proteins and assays employing same are also disclosed. The invention SMDPs and/or SCPs can be employed in a variety of ways, for example, for the production of anti-SMDP and/or SCP antibodies thereto, in therapeutic compositions, and methods employing such proteins and/or antibodies for drug screening, functional genomics and other applications. Also provided are transgenic non-human mammals that express the invention protein.

Claims (8)

1. An isolated nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:6.

2. A nucleic acid according to claim 1 , wherein the nucleotide sequence of said nucleic acid is the same as that set forth in SEQ ID NO:5.

3. A nucleic acid according to claim 1 , wherein said nucleic acid is cDNA.

4. A vector containing the nucleic acid of claim 1 .

5. A recombinant cell containing the nucleic acid of claim 1 .

6. An isolated polypeptide encoded by the nucleic acid of claim 1 .

7. A method for expression of a SIP-S polypeptide, said method comprising culturing cells of claim 5 under conditions suitable for expression of said SIP-S polypeptide.

8. A chimeric protein comprising the SIP-S polypeptide of claim 6 .
