Abstract

There is provided a synovial cell growth inhibitor, or a pharmaceutical composition for treatment of chronic rheumatoid arthritis based on the synovial cell growth inhibitor. The pharmaceutical composition for treatment of chronic rheumatoid arthritis or synovial cell growth inhibitor contains an IL-6 antagonist, such as IL-6 antibody or IL-6R antibody, as an effective component.

Claims (3)

1. A method for inhibiting synovial cell growth, comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising reshaped human antibody hPM-1 and a physiologically acceptable carrier.

2. A method of treating chronic rheumatoid arthritis, comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising reshaped human antibody hPM-1 and a physiologically acceptable carrier.

3. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the antibody suppresses abnormal growth of synovial cells.
