Naphthyl substituted azabicyclo derivatives and their use as monomine neurotransmitter re-uptake inhibitors
This invention relates to novel naphthyl substituted azabicyclo derivatives useful as monoamine neurotransmitter re-uptake inhibitors. In other aspects the invention relates to the use of these compounds in a method for therapy and to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds of the invention.
1. The chemical compound which is
6-(1-Aza-bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-en-3-yl)-naphthalen-2-ol;
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2. A pharmaceutical composition, comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of claim 1 , or any of its isomers or any mixture of its isomers, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, together with at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient or diluent.

A method for treatment or alleviation of a disease or a disorder or a condition of a living animal body, including a human, which disorder, disease or condition is responsive to inhibition of monoamine neurotransmitter re-uptake in the central nervous system, which method comprises the step of administering to such a living animal body in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound according to claim 1 , or any of its isomers or any mixture of its isomers, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

The chemical compound of 6-(1-Aza-bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-en-3-yl)-naphthalen-2-ol, or any of its isomers or any mixture of its isomers, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which inhibits reuptake of the monoamines dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin in synaptosomes and which has balanced activity.

A method for manufacturing a pharmaceutical composition which composition is for the treatment or alleviation of a disease, disorder or condition in a mammal, including a human, which disease, disorder or condition is responsive to the inhibition of monoamine neurotransmitter re-uptake in the central nervous system, wherein said method of manufacturing comprises combining the compound of claim 1 with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable diluents and/or carriers.
