Abstract

A sample preparation apparatus comprising: a detector for detecting a predetermined cell included in a biological sample; a sample preparation section for preparing a measurement sample from the biological sample and a predetermined reagent; and a controller configured to generate, based on a detection result by the detector, concentration information reflecting a concentration of the predetermined cell in the biological sample and to control, based on the concentration information, the amount of the biological sample supplied to the sample preparation section.

Claims (25)

1. A sample preparation apparatus comprising:

a detector for detecting a predetermined cell included in a biological sample;

a sample preparation section for preparing a measurement sample from the biological sample and a predetermined reagent; and

a controller configured to generate, based on a detection result by the detector, concentration information reflecting a concentration of the predetermined cell in the biological sample and to control, based on the concentration information, the amount of the biological sample supplied to the sample preparation section.

2. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is so configured as to control the sample preparation section so as to prepare the measurement sample through a same operation regardless of the concentration information.

3. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is so configured as to control the amount of the biological sample supplied to the sample preparation section so that the number of predetermined cells in the measurement sample is within a predetermined range.

4. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is so configured as to increase the amount of the biological sample supplied to the sample preparation section when the concentration of the predetermined cell in the biological sample is lower and decrease the amount of the biological sample supplied to the sample preparation section when the concentration of the predetermined cell in the biological sample is higher.

5. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is so configured as to control, based on the concentration information, the amount of the reagent supplied to the sample preparation section.

6. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is so configured as to control the amount of at least one of the biological sample and the reagent supplied to the sample preparation section so that a ratio between the number of the predetermined cells in the biological sample and the amount of the reagent is within a predetermined range.

7. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the detector comprises: a flow cell through which the biological sample passes; a light source section for emitting laser beam to the biological sample flowing in the flow cell; and a light-receiving section for receiving light generated when the light source section emits laser beam to the biological sample.

8. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a cell removal section for removing at least a part of cells other than the predetermined cell in the biological sample, wherein

the detector is so configured as to detect the predetermined cell included in the biological sample from which at least a part of the cells other than the predetermined cell has been removed by the cell removal section.

9. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a cell dispersion section for dispersing cells in the biological sample, wherein

the detector is so configured as to detect the predetermined cells included in the biological sample, the cells in the biological sample having been dispersed by the cell dispersion section.

10. The sample preparation apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the predetermined cell is an epidermal cell of a cervix.

11. A cell analyzer comprising:

a first detector for detecting a predetermined cell included in a biological sample;

a sample preparation section for preparing a measurement sample from the biological sample and a predetermined reagent;

a controller configured to generate, based on a detection result by the first detector, concentration information reflecting a concentration of the predetermined cell in the biological sample and to control, based on the concentration information, the amount of the biological sample supplied to the sample preparation section;

a second detector for detecting the predetermined cell from the measurement sample prepared by the sample preparation section from the biological sample in the amount controlled by the controller; and

an analysis section for analyzing the predetermined cell based on a detection result by the second detector.

12. The cell analyzer according to claim 11 , wherein the second detector comprises: a flow cell through which the measurement sample passes; a light source section for emitting laser beam to the measurement sample flowing in the flow cell; and a light-receiving section for receiving light generated when the light source section emits laser beam to the measurement sample.

13. The cell analyzer according to claim 12 , wherein the first detector comprises: a second flow cell through which the biological sample passes; a second light source section for emitting laser beam to the biological sample flowing in the second flow cell; and a second light-receiving section for receiving light generated when the second light source section emits laser beam to the biological sample.

14. The cell analyzer according to claim 11 , wherein the controller is so configured as to control the sample preparation section so as to prepare the measurement sample through a same operation regardless of the concentration information.

15. The cell analyzer according to claim 11 , wherein the controller is so configured as to control the amount of the biological sample supplied to the sample preparation section so that the number of predetermined cells in the measurement sample is within a predetermined range.
