Abstract

The present invention provides to a method of producing fiber from tourmaline anion fiber; of which, polypropylene or polyethylene chip, TPE and submicrometer tourmaline particle are prepared and then rolled into submicrometer tourmaline agglomerate through granulation by double screw; then, take submicrometer tourmaline agglomerate and polypropylene or polyethylene chip, of which the content of tourmaline agglomerate accounts for 1˜10% of gross weight, and TPE for 1˜40% of gross weight; tourmaline agglomerate and polypropylene or polyethylene are melted into composite fiber or filter material via spinning, such that the fiber or filter material can yield anion and present outstanding gas permeability and mechanical property.

Claims (36)

1. A natural tourmaline anion fiber consisting of:

submicrometer tourmaline particles,

a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE),

a polypropylene with a molecular weight of 3.15×10 5 g/mole or a polyethylene with a molecular weight of 1.5×10 5 to 2.5×10 5 g/mole,

optionally nano-silver grains, and

optionally microcapsules containing a functional material, wherein:

the diameter of said fiber is from 0.01 mm to about 3 mm,

the particle size of said submicrometer tourmaline particles is from 1 μm to 100 nm, and

the amount of said submicrometer tourmaline particles in said fiber is from 1 to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of said fiber contents.

2. The fiber of claim 1 , wherein said fiber comprises a polyethylene with a molecular weight of from 1.5×10 5 to 2.5×10 5 g/mole.

3. The fiber of claim 1 , wherein said fiber comprises a polypropylene with a molecular weight of 3.15×10 5 g/mole.

4. The fiber of claim 1 , wherein said fiber comprises from 0.5 to 5% by weight nano-silver grains based on the total weight of said fiber contents.

5. The fiber of claim 1 , wherein said fiber comprises from 0.5 to 5% by weight microcapsules based on the total weight of said fiber contents, wherein said microcapsules contain functional material.

6. The fiber of claim 5 , wherein said functional material is an extracted vegetable oil.

7. The fiber of claim 6 , wherein said extracted vegetable oil provides a long-lasting fragrance.

8. The fiber of claim 1 , wherein the amount of said TPE in said fiber is from 1 to 40% by weight based on the total weight of said fiber contents.

9. The fiber of claim 1 , wherein said TPE comprises Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM).

10. A filter, which is made of at least one layer of fiber, wherein the fiber consists of:

submicrometer tourmaline particles,

a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE),

a polypropylene with a molecular weight of 3.15×10 5 g/mole or polyethylene with a molecular weight of 1.5×10 5 to 2.5×10 5 g/mole,

optionally nano-silver grains, and

optionally microcapsules containing a functional material, wherein:

the diameter of said fiber is from 0.01 mm to 3 mm,

the particle size of submicrometer tourmaline particles is from 1 μm to 100 nm, and

the amount of said submicrometer tourmaline particles in said fiber is from 1 to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of said fiber contents.

11. The filter of claim 10 , wherein said fiber comprises from 0.5 to 5% weight nano-silver grains, based on the total weight of said fiber contents.

12. The filter of claim 10 , wherein said fiber comprises from 0.5 to 5% by weight microcapsules, based on the total weight of said fiber contents, wherein said microcapsules contain a functional material.

13. The filter of claim 10 , wherein said functional material is an extracted vegetable oil.

14. The filter of claim 13 , wherein said extracted vegetable oil provides a long-lasting fragrance.

15. The filter of claim 10 , wherein said fiber comprises a polyethylene with a molecular weight of from 1.5×10 5 to 2.5×10 5 g/mole.

16. The filter of claim 10 , wherein said fiber comprises a polypropylene with a molecular weight of 3.15×10 5 g/mole.

17. The filter of claim 10 , wherein said filter is made of 2, 3, 4 or 5 layers of fiber.

18. The filter of claim 17 , wherein said filter is made of 5 layers of said fiber.

19. The filter of claim 10 , wherein the amount of said TPE in said fiber is from 1 to 40% by weight, based on the total weight of said fiber contents.

20. The filter of claim 10 , wherein said TPE comprises Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM).
