Abstract

A developer cartridge according to one aspect of the invention is attachable to a photoconductor unit that comprises a photoconductive drum. The developer cartridge comprises: a developing frame; a developing roller rotatably supported by the developing frame, and pressed to the photoconductive drum in a pressing direction when the developer cartridge is attached to the photoconductor cartridge; a memory unit attached to the developing frame; and a terminal electrically connected to the memory unit and disposed at an outer portion of the developing frame at a position substantially opposite to the developing roller with respect to the pressing direction.

Claims (17)

1. A developer cartridge attachable to an image forming device including a photoconductor unit that includes a photoconductive drum, said developer cartridge comprising:

a developing frame;

a developing roller rotatably supported by the developing frame;

a memory unit attached to the developing frame; and

a terminal electrically connected to the memory unit and disposed at an outer portion of the developing frame at a position substantially opposite to the developing roller with respect to a direction in which the developing roller is configured to be urged toward the photoconductive drum.

2. The developer cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein a plurality of the terminals are respectively disposed at a plurality of positions to be symmetric with respect to a center of an axis direction of the developing roller, thereby the developing roller is urged toward the photoconductive drum uniformly in the axis direction.

3. A developer cartridge comprising:

a developing frame defining a developer container configured to contain developer, the developing frame having a first side and a second side;

a developing roller attached to the developing frame at the first side, the developing roller located at the first side of the developing frame;

a contact terminal located at the second side of the developing frame, and the contact terminal configured to receive a pressing force in a first direction to urge the developing roller toward a photosensitive drum; and

a memory electrically connected to the contact terminal.

4. The developer cartridge according to claim 3 ,

wherein the contact terminal includes a plane of contact, and

wherein the plane of contact of the contact terminal is perpendicular to the first direction.

5. The developer cartridge according to claim 3 ,

wherein the contact terminal includes a plane of contact, and

wherein the plane of contact of the contact terminal is parallel to the second side.
