Abstract

A system and method for optimizing enterprise applications driven by business processes is provided. The method for optimizing business processes comprises the steps of obtaining process data, optimizing the process data using algorithms, simulating execution of one of the process data and the optimized process data, publishing the optimized process data, and deploying the published data for execution using a run time engine. In one embodiment, the simulator simulates using both process data and optimized process data. Modifications to process data can be input, and this modified data can be simulated, and also can be optimized.

Claims (22)

1. A method for optimizing business processes, comprising:

extracting information from the integration of heterogeneous applications within an organization;

analyzing process data from the extracted information using user-defined algorithms and reference models from a knowledge repository to identify processes in the extracted information;

optimizing the identified processes using adaptive learning to generate optimized processes including suggested modifications to the identified processes and to place the optimized processes into the reference models in the knowledge repository;

simulating said optimized processes to determine how they perform;

publishing said optimized processes; and

deploying said published data for execution using a run time engine.

2. A computer readable storage medium having a computer readable program for operating on a computer for optimizing business processes, said program comprising instructions that cause the computer to perform:

extracting information from the integration of heterogeneous applications within an organization;

analyzing process data from the extracted information using user-defined algorithms and reference models from a knowledge repository to identify processes in the extracted information;

optimizing the identified processes using adaptive learning to generate optimized processes including suggested modifications to the identified processes and to place the optimized processes into the reference models in the knowledge repository;

simulating said optimized processes to determine how they perform;

publishing said optimized processes; and

deploying said published data for execution using a run time engine.

3. A system for optimizing business processes, comprising:

an extractor for extracting information from the integration of heterogeneous applications within an organization;

an analyzer for analyzing process data from the extracted information using user-defined algorithms and reference models from a knowledge repository to identify processes in the extracted information;

an optimizer for optimizing the identified processes using adaptive learning to generate optimized processes including suggested modifications to the identified processes and for placing the optimized processes into the reference models in the knowledge repository;

a simulator for simulating said optimized processes to determine how they perform;

a process migrator;

a user interface tool for displaying said optimized processes; and

a run time engine, wherein said simulator publishes said optimized process data and said process migrator deploys said published process data to said run time engine.
