Abstract

An image processing device including a subject frame setting section which, by operating a subject detector which detects a subject captured in an image, sets a subject frame which surrounds a predetermined range of the subject detected from the image; an acceptance frame setting section which sets an acceptance frame with a range wider than the subject frame according to the context of the image; a position detecting section which detects a specified position on an image which is specified by a user; and a recognizing section which recognizes a subject which is a tracking target based on the acceptance frame set by the acceptance frame setting section and the specified position detected by the position detecting section.

Claims (21)

1. An image processing device, comprising:

a subject frame setting section which, by operating a subject detector which detects a subject captured in an image, sets a subject frame which surrounds a predetermined range of the subject detected from the image;

an acceptance frame setting section which sets an acceptance frame with a range wider than the subject frame according to the context of the image;

a position detecting section which detects a specified position on an image; and

a recognizing section which recognizes a subject which is a tracking target based on the acceptance frame set by the acceptance frame setting section and the specified position detected by the position detecting section, wherein the subject frame setting section has a plurality of subject detectors to respectively detect a plurality of types of subjects, and, in a case where the recognizing section is unable to recognize the subject which is the tracking target, the operation of the subject detectors other than the subject detector which was operating is started and other types of the subjects are detected.

2. The image processing device according to claim 1 , wherein the acceptance frame setting section sets a size of the acceptance frame with regard to the subject frame according to a size of the subject which is captured in the image.

3. An image processing device, comprising:

a subject frame setting section which, by operating a subject detector which detects a subject captured in an image, sets a subject frame which surrounds a predetermined range of the subject detected from the image;

an acceptance frame setting section which sets an acceptance frame with a range wider than the subject frame according to the context of the image;

a position detecting section which detects a specified position on an image; and

a recognizing section which recognizes a subject which is a tracking target based on the acceptance frame set by the acceptance frame setting section and the specified position detected by the position detecting section, wherein the acceptance frame setting section adjusts a spacing of the acceptance frame with regard to the subject frame according to a movement of the subject which is captured in the image.

4. An image processing device, comprising:

a subject frame setting section which, by operating a subject detector which detects a subject captured in an image, sets a subject frame which surrounds a predetermined range of the subject detected from the image, wherein the subject frame setting section has a plurality of subject detectors to respectively detect a plurality of types of subjects;

an acceptance frame setting section which sets an acceptance frame with a range wider than the subject frame according to an imaging mode set for performing imaging using imaging conditions which are appropriate for a certain image;

a position detecting section which detects a specified position on an image; and

a recognizing section which recognizes a subject which is a tracking target based on the acceptance frame set by the acceptance frame setting section and the specified position detected by the position detecting section, wherein, in a case where the recognizing section is unable to recognize the subject which is the tracking target, the operation of the subject detectors other than the subject detector which were operating is started and other types of the subjects are detected.

5. An image processing device, comprising:

a subject frame setting section which, by operating a subject detector which detects a subject captured in an image, sets a subject frame which surrounds a predetermined range of the subject detected from the image;

an acceptance frame setting section which sets an acceptance frame with a range wider than the subject frame according to an imaging mode set for performing imaging using imaging conditions which are appropriate for a certain image, wherein the acceptance frame setting section sets the acceptance frame of the subject which is appropriate for the imaging mode which is currently set to be larger than the acceptance frame of the subject which is not appropriate for the imaging mode when a plurality of types of the subject is captured in the image;

a position detecting section which detects a specified position on an image; and

a recognizing section which recognizes a subject which is a tracking target based on the acceptance frame set by the acceptance frame setting section and the specified position detected by the position detecting section.
