Abstract

A compound is disclosed that has a formula represented by the following: This compound may be prepared as a pharmaceutical composition, and may be used for the prevention and treatment of a variety of conditions in mammals including humans, including by way of non-limiting example, inflammatory conditions, autoimmune diseases, proliferative diseases, transplantation rejection, diseases involving impairment of cartilage turnover, congenital cartilage malformations, and/or diseases associated with hypersecretion of IL6.

Claims (14)

1. A compound according to Formula I:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a pharmaceutically effective amount of a compound, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, according to claim 1 .

3. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 2 comprising a further therapeutic agent.

4. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 3 , wherein the further therapeutic agent is an agent for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.

5. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 4 , wherein said further therapeutic agent is selected from glucocorticoids, cytostatic agents, alkylating agents, antimetabolites, cytotoxic antibiotics, cyclosporin, tacrolimus, rapamycin, interferons, TNF binding proteins, mycophenolate, fingolimod, and myriocin.

6. The compound of claim 1 , wherein said compound is present as the free base.

7. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a pharmaceutically effective amount of the compound of claim 6 .

8. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 , wherein the carrier is a an injectable carrier.

9. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 , wherein the carrier is an oral carrier.

10. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 , wherein the carrier is a topical carrier.

11. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 7 , wherein the carrier is an injectable carrier.

12. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 7 , wherein the carrier is an oral carrier.

13. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 7 , wherein the carrier is a topical carrier.
