Abstract

The lithium-ion secondary battery provided by the present invention comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte. The positive electrode comprises as a primary component of its positive electrode active material, a lithium-containing olivine compound. The positive electrode further comprises 2 to 20 parts by mass of an activated carbon relative to 100 parts by mass of the positive electrode active material.

Claims (28)

1. A lithium-ion secondary battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte, wherein

the negative electrode comprises a carbon particle; and

the positive electrode comprises:

as a primary component of its positive electrode active material, a lithium-containing olivine compound represented by general formula:

LiM 1 PO 4

wherein M 1 consists of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of Fe, Co, and Ni, the lithium-containing olivine compound being contained in an amount accounting for 80% by mass or greater of the positive electrode active material; and

5 to 10 parts by mass of an activated carbon relative to 100 parts by mass of the positive electrode active material, the activated carbon having an average particle diameter of 0.1 μm to 50 μm, a specific surface area of 100 m 2 /g to 2500 m 2 /g, and a pore volume of 0.2 mL/g to 2.0 mL/g.

2. A vehicle comprising the lithium-ion secondary battery according to claim 1 .
