Abstract

Some embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and compositions for treating cancer. More embodiments include methods and compositions for modulating the activity of the Hedgehog pathway.

Claims (13)

1. A method for treating or ameliorating ovarian cancer in a subject comprising administering to the subject a nucleic acid comprising a sequence selected from SEQ ID NO.s:01-10, wherein the administration reduces the level of a nucleic acid encoding GLI1 or the level of GLI1 protein in a cell of the subject.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:01.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid is selected from a small hairpin RNA (shRNA), a small interfering RNA (siRNA), an artificial micro RNA (miRNA), an antisense polynucleotide, and a ribozyme.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is human.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:02.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:03.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:04.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:05.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:06.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:07.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:08.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:09.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administered nucleic acid comprises SEQ ID NO:10.
