Abstract

A duster including a sleeve and one or more fibrous bundles attached to the sleeve. The sleeve is constructed to include one or more channels within the interior of the sleeve for receiving prongs of a duster handle. The fibrous bundles are attached to the surface of the sleeve or through the sleeve. The channels within the sleeve may include one or more narrowing areas to facilitate retention of the prongs within the sleeve.

Claims (14)

1. A duster comprising:

a sleeve constructed of at least two sheets of material joined together on at least two edges and including an upper side and a lower side and defining an opening into the interior of the sleeve;

at least one fibrous bundle attached to one side of the sleeve; and wherein the sheets of the sleeve are joined together by at least a center joint that extends longitudinally down and substantially centered on the sleeve and by at least two side joints that extend longitudinally down and offset from the center of the sleeve to create at least two channels within the interior of the sleeve, and wherein the two side joints flare away from the center joint to widen the channels proximate to the opening and

wherein the at least one fibrous bundle and the sleeve are joined together by at least a point that extends through the fibrous bundle and through at least one sheet of the sleeve and wherein the fibrous bundles are attached to the surface of the sleeve by at least a non-linear joint that extends through the fibrous bundles and adheres to the surface of the sleeve and plurality of small joints that extend through the fibrous bundles at various depths and adhere to the surface of the sleeve.

2. A duster comprising:

a sleeve having a upper side and a lower side and defining an opening into the interior of the sleeve;

at least one fibrous bundle attached to the upper side of the sleeve and at least one fibrous bundle attached to the lower side of the sleeve; and

the sleeve being configured to receive a portion of a handle into the interior of the sleeve, wherein the sleeve is joined together by at least a joint that extends longitudinally down and substantially centered on the sleeve and by at least two side joints that extend longitudinally down and offset from the center of the sleeve to create at least two channels within the interior of the sleeve; and

wherein the fibrous bundles and the sleeve are joined together by at least one joint that extends from an outer portion of and through the fibrous bundle and through the sleeve; and

wherein the fibrous bundles and the sleeve are joined together by the at least two side joints which at least two side joints extend from the outer portion of and through a portion of the fibrous bundle and through the sleeve; and

wherein at least one joint and the at least two side joints define at least two channels within the interior of the sleeve; and

wherein the at least two side joints flare away from at least one joint to widen the at least two channels proximate to the opening; and

wherein in fibrous bundles are attached to the surface of the sleeve by at least a non-linear joint that extends through the fibrous bundles and adheres to the surface of the sleeve and a plurality of small joints that extend through fibrous bundles at various depths and adhere to the surface of the sleeve.

3. The duster of claim 2 , wherein at least a portion of the sleeve proximate to the opening is a different color from the fibrous bundles.
