Suture line administration technique using botulinum toxins

1. A method for treating a patient suffering from a headache, comprising the step of administering a Clostridial toxin to a suture junction of the patient's skull, where a first suture line meets a second suture line, wherein the administration alleviates at least one symptom of the headache, thereby treating the patient suffering from the headache.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the administering comprises administering the Clostridial toxin at the junction along the first suture line; followed by administering the Clostridial toxin along the second suture line.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the headache is selected from the group consisting of a sinus headache, a tension headache, a migraine headache, a cluster headache and a cervogenic headache.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first suture line and the second suture line are selected from the group consisting of frontal suture, squamous suture, occipitomastoid suture, coronal suture, lambdoid suture and sagittal suture.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the Clostridial neurotoxin is a botulinum toxin.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the administration is subdermal or subcutaneous.

7. The method according to claim 5 , wherein the botulinum toxin is botulinum toxin type A.

8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the administration is topical.

9. A method for treating a headache in a patient in need thereof, comprising the steps of:

a) determining a location of pain associated with the headache of the patient;

b) determining a first suture line and a second sure line that are most proximal to the location of pain,

c) identifying a junction where the first suture line and the second suture line meet; and

d) administering a Clostridial neurotoxin at the junction, thereby treating the headache of the patient.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the administration is subdermal or subcutaneous.

11. The method of claim 9 , wherein the Clostridial neurotoxin is botulinum toxin type A.

12. The method of claim 9 , wherein the administration step includes the step of inserting a needle of a syringe containing the Clostridial neurotoxin at the junction, and positioning the needle along the first suture line; administrating the Clostridial neurotoxin along the first suture line; repositioning the needle along the second suture line; and administering the Clostridial neurotoxin along the second suture line.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the first suture and the second suture are selected from the group consisting of frontal suture, squamous suture, coronal suture, lambdoid suture, occipitomastoid suture and sagittal suture.

14. The method of claim 9 , wherein the administration is topical.

15. A method for alleviating a headache pain in a patient in need thereof, comprising the step of localizing the headache pain, administering a botulinum toxin type A to the patient, wherein the botulinum toxin type A is administered at a junction where at least two suture lines meet, the at least two suture lines being most proximal to the location of pain.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the at least two sutures are selected from the group consisting of frontal suture, squamous suture, coronal suture, lambdoid suture, occipitomastoid suture and sagittal suture.

17. The method of claim 15 , wherein the amount of administered botulinum toxin type A is from about 5 units to about 500 units.

18. The method of claim 15 , wherein the administration is subdermal or subcutaneous.

19. The method according to claim 15 , further comprising administering the botulinum toxin type A at a second junction where at least two other suture lines meet.

20. The method of claim 15 , wherein the administration is topical.
