Abstract

An apparatus and method for processing call services in a mobile terminal are provided. The method for processing call services in a mobile terminal includes entering into, when a call is generated, a call handling mode, recognizing and analyzing voice signals sent and received in the call to produce speech analysis information, detecting a state change of the mobile terminal using a sensing unit to produce user behavior information, and predicting, when a state change of the mobile terminal is detected, an application corresponding to the speech analysis information, and activating the application as a follow-up service.

Claims (48)

1. An apparatus for processing call services in a mobile terminal, the apparatus comprising:

a communication unit configured to:

send voice signals during a call, and

receive voice signals during a call;

a sensing unit configured to sense a state change of the mobile terminal;

a control unit configured to:

recognize, during a call, voice signals,

produce speech analysis information on the basis of speech recognition results,

predict, when a state change of the mobile terminal is detected by the sensing unit, an application corresponding to the speech analysis information, and

activate the application as a follow-up service; and

a display unit configured to output the follow-up service.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the control unit comprises:

a speech analyzer configured to:

recognize voice signals of a call, and

produce speech analysis information based on speech recognition results;

a state change analyzer configured to analyze movement of the mobile terminal detected through the sensing unit to produce user behavior information; and

a follow-up activity handler configured to:

predict an application to be executed based on at least one of the speech analysis information and the user behavior information, and

activate the predicted application as a follow-up service.

3. The apparatus of claim 2 ,

wherein the control unit further comprises a counterpart information analyzer configured to analyze information on a counterpart user of a call to produce an indication as to whether the counterpart user is enrolled in the mobile terminal as counterpart information, and

wherein the follow-up activity handler is further configured to:

predict an application to be executed on the basis of at least one of the counterpart information, speech analysis information and user behavior information, and

activate the predicted application as a follow-up service.

4. The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the follow-up activity handler is further configured to display a keypad on the display unit as a follow-up service when the speech analysis information indicates an Automatic Route Selection (ARS) pattern.

5. The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the user behavior information comprises information relating to a preset gesture or a natural action.

6. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the follow-up activity handler is further configured to:

search, when the speech analysis information indicates a schedule event, a list of stored schedule items for a schedule item associated with the schedule event, and

display the found schedule item on the display unit as a follow-up service.

7. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the follow-up activity handler is further configured to:

search, when the speech analysis information indicates messaging, a list of stored messages for a message associated with the speech analysis information, and

display the found message on the display unit as a follow-up service.

8. A method for processing call services in a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

entering, when a call is generated, a call handling mode;

recognizing and analyzing voice signals sent or received in the call to produce speech analysis information;

detecting a state change of the mobile terminal using a sensing unit to produce user behavior information; and

predicting, when a state change of the mobile terminal is detected, an application corresponding to the speech analysis information, and activating the application as a follow-up service.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

analyzing information on a counterpart user of a call to produce an indication as to whether the counterpart user is enrolled in the mobile terminal as counterpart information,

wherein the predicting and activating of the application comprises predicting an application to be executed on the basis of at least one of the counterpart information, speech analysis information and user behavior information, and activating the predicted application as a follow-up service.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the predicting and activating of the application comprises displaying a keypad as a follow-up service when the speech analysis information indicates an Automatic Route Selection (ARS) pattern.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the predicting and activating of the application comprises:

searching, when the speech analysis information indicates a schedule event, a list of stored schedule items for a schedule item associated with the schedule event; and

displaying the found schedule item on a display unit as a follow-up service.

12. The method of claim 8 , wherein the predicting and activating of the application comprises:

searching, when the speech analysis information indicates messaging, a list of stored messages for a message associated with the speech analysis information; and

displaying the found message on a display unit as a follow-up service.

13. The method of claim 8 , wherein the user behavior information comprises information relating to a preset gesture or a natural action.
