Abstract

The present application provides a combustor for use with a gas turbine engine. The combustor may include a number of micro-mixer fuel nozzles, a fuel manifold system in communication with the micro-mixer fuel nozzles to deliver a flow of fuel thereto, and a linear actuator to maneuver the micro-mixer fuel nozzles and the fuel manifold system.

Claims (19)

1. A combustor for use with a gas turbine engine, comprising:

a plurality of micro-mixer fuel nozzles;

a fuel manifold system in communication with the plurality of micro-mixer fuel nozzles to deliver a flow of fuel thereto, wherein the fuel manifold system comprises a plurality of nested fuel circuits, wherein each of the plurality of nested fuel circuits is in communication with one of the plurality of micro-mixer fuel nozzles, wherein the plurality of nested fuel circuits comprises a plurality of flexible hoses; and

a linear actuator to maneuver the plurality of micro-mixer fuel nozzles and the fuel manifold system.

2. The combustor of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of micro-mixer fuel nozzles comprises a plurality of micro-mixer fuel tubes and a fuel plate.

3. The combustor of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of micro-mixer nozzles is positioned within a cap assembly.

4. The combustor of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of nested fuel circuits comprises a plurality of fuel feed seals positioned therebetween.

5. The combustor of claim 1 , wherein the linear actuator comprises a drive rod and wherein the plurality of nested fuel circuits is maneuvered by the drive rod.

6. The combustor of claim 5 , further comprising an end cover and wherein the plurality of nested fuel circuits comprises a single entry port through the end cover.

7. A combustor for use with a gas turbine engine, comprising:

a plurality of fuel nozzles;

a plurality of nested fuel circuits in communication with the plurality of fuel nozzles to deliver a flow of fuel thereto, wherein the plurality of nested fuel circuits comprises a plurality of flexible hoses; and

a drive rod to maneuver the plurality of fuel nozzles.

8. The combustor of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of fuel nozzles comprises a plurality of micro-mixer nozzles.

9. The combustor of claim 7 , further comprising a nested fuel manifold in communication with the plurality of nested fuel circuits.

10. The combustor of claim 9 , wherein the nested fuel manifold comprises one or more fuel circuit connections.

11. A combustor for use with a gas turbine engine, comprising: a plurality of micro-mixer fuel nozzles;

a fuel manifold system in communication with the plurality of micromixer fuel nozzles to deliver a flow of fuel thereto, wherein the fuel manifold system comprises a plurality of nested fuel circuits, wherein each of the plurality of nested fuel circuits is in communication with a fuel nozzle manifold, wherein the plurality of nested fuel circuits comprises a plurality of flexible hoses; and

a linear actuator to maneuver the plurality of micro-mixer fuel nozzles and the fuel manifold system.
