Abstract

Systems and method of the present invention provide for one or more server computers configured to receive one or more keywords topically relevant to a content of a web page, request from a search engine a first metric comprising a quantity of times the keywords have appeared in a search query with one or more question keywords during a time period and a second metric comprising a probability of receiving a high rank associated with the one or more keywords and the one or more question keywords, receive, from the search engine, the first metric and the second metric, calculate a keyword effectiveness index from the first metric and the second metric, and generate and transmit to a client computer one or more recommendations to include a high ranked suggested content on the web page according to the keyword effectiveness index.

Claims (92)

1. A system, comprising:

a client computer configured to:

receive on behalf of a user, from a user interface element displayed on an electronic form, at least one keyword describing a web page selected to be optimized for a high search engine rank; and

display a notification recommending that the user create an optimized content for the web page comprising a searched question and an answer to the searched question;

a first server computer operated by a search engine, the first server computer running an application programming interface (API);

a processor executing instructions causing a second server computer to:

receive, from the user interface element displayed on the electronic form, the at least one keyword;

transmit a remote procedure call (RPC) to the API, the RPC comprising the at least one keyword and at least one question keyword comprising what, who, when, why or how;

receive, from the API in response to the RPC, a plurality of searched questions comprising the at least one keyword and the at least one question keyword, and for each one of the plurality of searched questions:

a usage metric defining a number of times the at least one searched question appeared in a search performed by the search engine during a day, a week, a month, or a year; and

a competition metric based on a total number of websites optimized for the search engine and including each of the plurality of searched questions;

calculate a recommendation score for each of the plurality of searched questions;

generate the notification recommending the one of the plurality of searched questions associated with a highest recommendation score;

identify, within the content of the selected web page, a plurality of words;

generate a running count of each of the plurality of words;

determine a percentage of each of the plurality of words as compared to the total number of words within the content;

assign an optimal keyword density within the content;

display a font color or graphic indicating if the percentage of each of the plurality of words is greater or less than the optimal keyword density; and

transmit the notification to the client computer for display on a user interface.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the recommendation score is calculated by subtracting the competition metric from 1 and multiplying the difference by the usage metric.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions cause the second server computer to:

receive, from the electronic form, a request to store the one of the plurality of searched strings associated with a highest recommendation score in data storage; and

store the one of the plurality of searched strings associated with a highest recommendation score in data storage.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the notification further comprises a plurality of font colors or graphics representing a degree of recommendation for the recommendation score, wherein:

a first font color or graphic indicates a favorable recommendation score;

a second font color or graphic indicates a non-favorable recommendation score; and

a third font color or graphic indicates a neutral recommendation score.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions cause the second server computer to:

receive, from the electronic form, a uniform resource locator (URL) for at least one web page;

identify, within the content of the at least one web page, a plurality of words;

determine a total number of each of the plurality of words;

display, on a user interface on the client computer, a list of each of the plurality of words, ranked according to a highest total number.

6. A system, comprising a processor executing instructions causing a server computer to:

receive, from a user interface element displayed on an electronic form, at least one keyword describing a web page;

transmit, to an application programming interface (API) operated by a search engine, a request comprising the at least one keyword;

receive, from the API in response to the request, a plurality of searched strings related to the at least one keyword, and for each one of the plurality of searched strings:

a usage metric defining a number of times each of the plurality of searched strings appeared in a search performed by the search engine during a time interval; and

a competition metric based on a total number of websites optimized for the search engine and including each of the plurality of searched strings;

calculate a recommendation score for each of the plurality of searched strings;

generate a notification to be displayed on a client computer, the notification recommending that the user create an optimized content for the web page comprising the one of the plurality of searched string associated with a highest recommendation score;

identify, within the content of the selected web page, a plurality of words;

generate a running count of each of the plurality of words;

determine a percentage of each of the plurality of words as compared to the total number of words within the content;

assign an optimal keyword density within the content;

display a content color or graphic indicating if the percentage of each of the plurality of words is greater or less than the optimal keyword density; and

transmit the notification to a client computer for display on a user interface.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein:

the request further comprises at least one question keyword comprising what, who, when, why or how; and

the plurality of searched strings comprises a plurality of searched questions.

8. The system of claim 6 , wherein the recommendation score is calculated by subtracting the competition metric from 1 and multiplying the difference by the usage metric.

9. The system of claim 6 , wherein the instructions cause the server computer to:

receive, from the electronic form, a request to store the one of the plurality of searched strings associated with a highest recommendation score in data storage; and

store the one of the plurality of searched strings associated with a highest recommendation score in data storage.

10. The system of claim 6 , wherein the notification further comprises a plurality of content colors or graphics representing a degree of recommendation for the recommendation score, wherein:

a first content color or graphic indicates a favorable recommendation score;

a second content color or graphic indicates a non-favorable recommendation score; and

a third content color or graphic indicates a neutral recommendation score.

11. The system of claim 6 , wherein the instructions cause the server computer to:

receive, from the electronic form, a uniform resource locator (URL) for at least one web page;

identify, within the content of the at least one web page, a plurality of words;

determine a total number of each of the plurality of words;

display, on a user interface on the client computer, a list of each of the plurality of words, ranked according to a highest total number.

12. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a server computer coupled to a network, from a user interface element displayed on an electronic form, at least one keyword describing a web page;

transmitting, by the server computer, to an application programming interface (API) operated by a search engine, a request comprising the at least one keyword;
