Abstract

An image processing device allows for easy removal of a process medium stuck in the conveyance path while protecting the image processing unit from the outside. In many embodiments, the device includes a conveyance path for conveying process media in a specific conveyance direction, an image processing unit having an ejection surface (process surface) disposed facing the conveyance path, and a first cover and a second cover disposed along the conveyance path and covering the conveyance path. Typically, the first and second covers open and close by pivoting on first and second pivot pins disposed in a direction intersecting the conveyance direction, and the first and second pivot pins are disposed adjacent the conveyance path upstream and downstream of the portion of the conveyance path facing the ejection surface.

Claims (13)

1. A media processing device comprising:

a conveyance path that conveys a media in a specific conveyance direction;

a media processing unit that faces the conveyance path;

a first pivot pin and a second pivot pin that are disposed along the conveyance path; and

a first cover and a second cover adapted to open and close by pivoting on the first pivot pin and the second pivot pin, respectively, so as to expose the conveyance path when open and cover the conveyance path during conveyance of the medium when closed,

wherein the media processing unit is disposed between the first pivot pin and the second pivot pin, and

wherein one of the first and second covers opens toward an upstream-side of the conveyance path while the other of the first and second covers opens toward a downstream side of the conveyance path.

2. The media processing device described in claim 1 , further comprising:

a loading pocket by which the media is loaded into the conveyance path for processing; and

an exit pocket by which the media is discharged from the conveyance path after processing,

wherein the loading pocket and the exit pocket are disposed on a same side of the media processing device,

wherein the loading pocket and exit pocket are upstream and downstream, respectively, from a portion of the conveyance path covered by the first and second covers.

3. The media processing device described in claim 1 , wherein the media processing unit is a print head.
