Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition comprising at least one biological control agent. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of this composition as well as a method for reducing overall damage of plants and plant parts.

Claims (28)

1. A composition comprising

at least one biological control agent selected from the group consisting of Bacillus subtilis AQ713 (NRRL Accession No. B-21661), Bacillus subtilis AQ30002 (NRRL Accession No. B-50421), and Bacillus subtilis AQ30004 (NRRL Accession No. B-50455),

at least one insecticide comprising a Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki , and

optionally at least one fungicide selected from the group consisting of inhibitors of the ergosterol biosynthesis, inhibitors of the respiratory chain at complex I or II, inhibitors of the respiratory chain at complex III, inhibitors of the mitosis and cell division, compounds capable to induce a host defense, inhibitors of the amino acid and/or protein biosynthesis, inhibitors of the ATP production, inhibitors of the cell wall synthesis, inhibitors of the lipid and membrane synthesis, inhibitors of the melanine biosynthesis, inhibitors of the nucleic acid synthesis, inhibitors of the signal transduction, compounds capable to act as an uncoupler such as binapacryl, dinocap, ferimzone, fluazinam, meptyldinocap and further compounds, like for example benthiazole, bethoxazin, capsimycin, carvone, chinomethionat, pyriofenone (chlazafenone), cufraneb, cyflufenamid, cymoxanil, cyprosulfamide, dazomet, debacarb, dichlorophen, diclomezine, difenzoquat, difenzoquat methylsulphate, diphenylamine, ecomate, fenpyrazamine, flumetover, fluoroimide, flusulfamide, flutianil, fosetyl-aluminium, fosetyl-calcium, fosetyl-sodium, hexachlorobenzene, irumamycin, (5-bromo-2-methoxy-4-methylpyridin-3-yl)(2,3,4-trimethoxy-6-methylphenyl)methanone, N-[2-(4-{[3-(4-chlorophenyl)prop-2-yn-1-yl]oxy}-3-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]-N2-(methylsulfonyl)valinamide 4-oxo-4-[(2-phenylethyl)amino]butanoic acid, but-3-yn-1-yl {6-[({[(Z)-(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)(phenyl)methylene]amino}oxy)methyl]pyridin-2-yl}carbamate, 4-Amino-5-fluoropyrimidin-2-ol, propyl 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate and oryzastrobin,

wherein combination of the at least one biological control agent and the Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki results in a synergistic effect and with the proviso that the biological control agent and the fungicide are not identical.

2. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one biological control agent is Bacillus subtilis AQ713 (NRRL Accession No. B-21661).

The composition according to claim 2 , wherein the insecticide further comprises a microbial disruptor of insect midgut membranes selected from the group consisting of Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis, Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies aizawai, Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies tenebrionis , and B.t. crop proteins: CrylAb, Cry1Ac, Cry1Fa, Cry1A.105, Cry2Ab, Vip3A, mCry3A, Cry3Ab, Cry3Bb, Cry34Ab1/35Ab1, and Bacillus sphaericus.

4. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one fungicide is an inhibitor of the nucleic acid synthesis.

5. The composition according to claim 4 , wherein the fungicide is metalaxyl.

6. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the biological control agent is Bacillus subtilis AQ30002 (NRRL Accession No. B-50421).

7. The composition according to claim 1 additionally comprising at least one auxiliary selected from the group consisting of extenders, solvents, spontaneity promoters, carriers, emulsifiers, dispersants, frost protectants, thickeners and adjuvants.

8. A seed treated with the composition according to claim 1 .

9. A composition according to claim 1 being an insecticide and/or a fungicide composition.

10. The composition according to claim 9 capable of being used for reducing overall damage of plants and plant parts as well as losses in harvested fruits or vegetables caused by insects, mites, nematodes and/or phytopathogens.

11. A method for reducing overall damage of plants and plant parts as well as losses in harvested fruits or vegetables caused by insects, mites, nematodes and/or phytopathogens comprising simultaneously or sequentially applying

at least one biological control agent selected from the group consisting of Bacillus subtilis AQ713 (NRRL Accession No. B-21661), Bacillus subtilis AQ30002 (NRRL Accession No. B-50421), and Bacillus subtilis AQ 30004 (NRRL Accession No. B-50455),

at least one insecticide comprising a Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki , and

optionally at least one fungicide selected from the group consisting of inhibitors of the ergosterol biosynthesis, inhibitors of the respiratory chain at complex I or II, inhibitors of the respiratory chain at complex III, inhibitors of the mitosis and cell division, compounds capable to induce a host defense, inhibitors of the amino acid and/or protein biosynthesis, inhibitors of the ATP 12. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the at least one biological control agent is Bacillus subtilis AQ713 (NRRL Accession No. B-21661).

13. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the insecticide further comprises a microbial disruptor of insect midgut membranes selected from the group consisting of Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis, Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies aizawai, Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies tenebrionis , and B.t. crop proteins: Cry1Ab, Cry1Ac, Cry1Fa, Cry1A.105, Cry2Ab, Vip3A, mCry3A, Cry3Ab, Cry3Bb, Cry34 Ab1/35Ab1, and Bacillus sphaericus.

14. A kit-of-parts comprising

at least one biological control agent selected from the group consisting of Bacillus subtilis AQ713 (NRRL Accession No. B-21661), Bacillus subtilis AQ30002 (NRRL Accession No. B-50421), and Bacillus subtilis AQ 30004 (NRRL Accession No. B-50455),

at least one insecticide comprising a Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki , and

optionally at least one fungicide selected from the group consisting of inhibitors of the ergosterol biosynthesis, inhibitors of the respiratory chain at complex I or II, inhibitors of the respiratory chain at complex III, inhibitors of the mitosis and cell division, compounds capable to induce a host defense, inhibitors of the amino acid and/or protein biosynthesis, inhibitors of the ATP production, inhibitors of the cell wall synthesis, inhibitors of the lipid and membrane synthesis, inhibitors of the melanine biosynthesis, inhibitors of the nucleic acid synthesis, inhibitors of the signal transduction, compounds capable to act as an uncoupler such as binapacryl, dinocap, ferimzone, fluazinam, meptyldinocap and further compounds, like for example benthiazole, bethoxazin,
