Abstract

A multiple pump system is disclosed. The multiple pump system may include a fluid tank and a multiple pump vessel connected to the fluid tank. The multiple pump vessel may include at least one first pump and at least one second pump located therein. In addition, the at least one first pump may be configured to dispense a fluid from the fluid tank at a first pressure, and the at least one second pump may be configured to dispense the fluid from the fluid tank at a second pressure. The first pressure may be different from the second pressure, such that the at least one first pump may be configured to dispense liquefied natural gas, and the at least one second pump may be configured to dispense compressed natural gas.

Claims (41)

1. A multiple pump system, comprising:

a fluid tank;

a multiple pump vessel having:

a first pump disposed within a space enclosed by the multiple pump vessel, the space being configured to store fluid received from the fluid tank, and the first pump being configured to dispense fluid stored within the multiple pump vessel at a first pressure;

a second pump disposed within the space enclosed by the multiple pump vessel and configured to dispense fluid stored within the multiple pump vessel at a second pressure, different than the first pressure;

an inlet through which fluid flows from the fluid tank into the multiple pump vessel; and

an outlet through which fluid flows out of the multiple pump vessel;

a fluid conduit connecting the fluid tank to the inlet of the multiple pump vessel;

a first pump conduit for connecting the first pump to a first distribution location; and

a second pump conduit for connecting the second pump to a second distribution location,

wherein fluid flows from the fluid tank into the multiple pump vessel, and from the multiple pump vessel to the first and the second discharge locations.

2. The multiple pump system of claim 1 , comprising a plurality of first pumps.

3. The multiple pump system of claim 2 , comprising a plurality of first pump conduits, wherein each of the plurality of first pumps is connected to one of the plurality of first pump conduits.

4. The multiple pump system of claim 3 , wherein at least two of the plurality of first pump conduits connect with each other at a location between the multiple pump vessel and the first distribution location.

5. The multiple pump system of claim 3 , comprising a plurality of outlets, wherein each first pump conduit exits the multiple pump vessel through its own outlet.

6. The multiple pump system of claim 3 , wherein each of the plurality of first pump conduits is configured to connect to the first distribution location.

7. The multiple pump system of claim 3 , wherein at least one of the plurality of first pump conduits is configured to connect to a different first distribution location.

8. The multiple pump system of claim 3 , comprising a plurality of second pumps.

9. The multiple pump system of claim 8 , comprising a plurality second pump conduits, wherein each of the plurality of second pumps is connected to one of the plurality of second pump conduits.

10. The multiple pump system of claim 8 , wherein at least two of the second pump conduits connect with each other at a location between the multiple pump vessel and the second distribution location.

11. The multiple pump system of claim 8 , comprising a plurality of outlets, wherein each second pump conduit exits the multiple pump vessel through its own outlet.

12. The multiple pump system of claim 8 , wherein each of the plurality of second pump conduits is configured to connect to the second distribution location.

13. The multiple pump system of claim 8 , wherein at least one of the plurality of second pump conduits is configured to connect to a different second distribution location.

14. The multiple pump system of claim 1 , wherein the first and the second distribution locations are the same location.

15. The multiple pump system of claim 1 , wherein the first and the second distribution locations are different locations.

16. The multiple pump system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first pump and the second pump is at least partially submerged within fluid in the multiple pump vessel.

17. A multiple pump system, comprising:

a fluid tank;

a plurality of multiple pump vessels, each multiple pump vessel having:

a first pump contained within a space enclosed by the multiple pump vessel, the space being configured to store fluid received from the fluid tank, and the first pump being configured to dispense fluid stored within the multiple pump vessel at a first pressure;

a second pump contained within the space enclosed by the multiple pump vessel and configured to dispense fluid stored within the multiple pump vessel at a second pressure, different than the first pressure;

an inlet through which fluid flows from the fluid tank into the multiple pump vessel; and

an outlet through which fluid flows out of the multiple pump vessel;

a plurality of fluid conduits, wherein each of the fluid conduits connects the fluid tank to the inlet of one of the plurality of multiple pump vessels;

a plurality of first pump conduits, wherein each of the first pump conduits connects the first pump of each multiple pump vessel to a first distribution location; and

a plurality of second pump conduits, wherein each of the second pump conduits connects the second pump of each multiple pump vessel to a second distribution location,

wherein fluid flows from the fluid tank, into the multiple pump vessel, and to the first and the second distribution locations.

18. The multiple pump system of claim 17 , wherein each first pump conduit connects to a different first distribution location.

19. The multiple pump system of claim 17 , wherein each second pump conduit connects to a different second distribution location.

20. The multiple pump system of claim 17 , wherein at least one of the plurality of multiple pump vessels has a plurality of first pumps.

21. The multiple pump system of claim 17 , wherein at least one of the plurality of multiple pump vessels has a plurality of second pumps.
