Abstract

A method for displaying images is provided, including displaying, by an electronic device, a first image obtained from an image sensor; displaying, by the electronic device, a plurality of second images together with the first image, wherein each second image is generated based on the first image and a respective image filter; and responsive to a selection of at least one second image, generating a third image based on the first image and the selected second image's respective image filter and displaying the third image in place of the first image.

Claims (40)

1. An electronic device comprising:

a memory storing instructions;

a touch screen;

an image sensor; and

one or more processors configured to execute the stored instructions to:

display a live main preview image based on image data obtained from the image sensor and a filter option icon on the touch screen;

detect a touch input for selecting the filter option icon on the touch screen;

responsive to detecting the touch input selecting the filter option icon, display a plurality of live sub-preview images, wherein each of the live sub-preview images is generated based on image data from the image sensor with a respective image filter;

detect a touch input for selecting one of the live sub-preview images on the touch screen;

process image data obtained from the image sensor to generate a filter-affected live main preview image based on the selected one of the sub-preview image's respective image filter;

display the filter-affected live main preview image with the live sub-preview images; and

generate a captured image based on image data obtained from the image sensor and the selected image filter in response to detecting a touch input for selecting a capture icon displayed on the touch screen.

2. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the image filter comprises one of a red effect, green effect, or blue effect.

3. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the image filter comprises a sketch effect.

4. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the image filter comprises a monochromatic effect.

5. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the filter-affected live main preview image is displayed in lieu of image data displayed on the touch screen.

6. A method for displaying images, the method comprising:

displaying a live main preview image based on image data obtained from an image sensor and a filter option icon on a touch screen;

detecting a touch input for selecting the filter option icon on the touch screen;

responsive to detecting the touch input selecting the filter option icon, displaying a plurality of live sub-preview images, wherein each of the live sub-preview images is generated based on image data from the image sensor with a respective image filter;

detecting a touch input for selecting one of the live sub-preview images on the touch screen;

processing image data obtained from the image sensor to generate a filter-affected live main preview image based on the selected one of the sub-preview image's respective image filter;

displaying the filter-affected live main preview image with the live sub-preview images; and

generating a captured image based on image data obtained from the image sensor and the selected image filter in response to detecting a touch input for selecting a capture icon displayed on the touch screen.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the image filter comprises one of a red effect, green effect, or blue effect.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the image filter comprises a sketch effect.

9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the image filter comprises a monochromatic effect.

10. The method of claim 6 , wherein the filter-affected live main preview image is displayed in lieu of image data displayed on the touch screen.

11. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs comprising instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to execute:

display a live main preview image based on image data obtained from an image sensor and a filter option icon on a touch screen;

detect a touch input for selecting the filter option icon on the touch screen;

responsive to detecting the touch input selecting the filter option icon, display a plurality of live sub-preview images, wherein each of the live sub-preview images is generated based on image data from the image sensor with a respective image filter;

detect a touch input for selecting one of the live sub-preview images on the touch screen;

process image data obtained from the image sensor to generate a filter-affected live main preview image based on the selected one of the sub-preview image's respective image filter;

display the filter-affected live main preview image with the live sub-preview images; and

generate a captured image based on image data obtained from the image sensor and the selected image filter in response to detecting a touch input for selecting a capture icon displayed on the touch screen.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the image filter comprises one of a red effect, green effect, or blue effect.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the image filter comprises a sketch effect.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the image filter comprises a monochromatic effect.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the filter-affected live main preview image is displayed in lieu of image data displayed on the touch screen.
