Abstract

A system comprising a plurality of self-powered devices and a plurality of proximity self-powered devices. The plurality of self-powered devices may be configured to (i) perform instructions, (ii) store scheduling data and (iii) select one of a plurality of modes of operation. The proximity self-powered devices may be configured to (i) detect a presence and (ii) select one of a plurality of modes of operation. The plurality of self-powered devices may select one of the plurality of modes of operation based on (i) the stored scheduling data and (ii) the presence detected by at least one of the plurality of proximity self-powered devices.

Claims (26)

1. A system comprising:

a plurality of self-powered devices, wherein said self-powered devices are configured to (i) perform instructions, (ii) store scheduling data and (iii) select one of a plurality of modes of operation;

a plurality of proximity self-powered devices, wherein (A) said proximity self-powered devices are configured to (i) detect a presence and (ii) select one of a plurality of modes of operation and (B) each of said plurality of self-powered devices selects one of said plurality of modes of operation based on (i) said stored scheduling data and (ii) said presence detected by at least one of said plurality of proximity self-powered devices; and

one or more remote devices configured to determine said scheduling data, wherein (A) said scheduling data comprises one or more activities and (B) said remote device is further configured to (i) determine whether an actual attendance of said activity exceeds a limit based on said presence detected by said proximity self-powered devices and (ii) allocate resources based on said actual attendance.

2. The system according to claim 1 , wherein (i) a first subset of said plurality of self-powered devices is in an active state based on said presence detected and (ii) a second subset of said plurality of self-powered devices is in a low-power mode based on said presence detected.

3. The system according to claim 2 , wherein said first subset of said plurality of self-powered devices (i) performs in one of said plurality of modes of operations for a duty cycle based on said presence detected and (ii) returns to a previous mode of operation after said duty cycle.

4. The system according to claim 1 , wherein said presence detected is a number of people.

5. The system according to claim 1 , wherein said presence detected is a particular person.

6. The system according to claim 1 , wherein said plurality of self-powered devices are assigned to one of a plurality of resources.

7. The system according to claim 6 , wherein said resources are allocated based on said scheduling data.

8. The system according to claim 7 , wherein said resources are reallocated based on said presence detected.

9. The system according to claim 6 , wherein a maintenance time of said resources is based on said presence detected.

10. The system according to claim 6 , wherein said resources are configured to recharge based on said presence detected.

11. The system according to claim 6 , wherein billing for said resource is based on said presence detected.

12. The system according to claim 1 , wherein an allocation of resources assigned to said plurality of self-powered devices is based on context information.

13. The system according to claim 1 , wherein (i) said proximity self-powered devices are configured to communicate said presence detected to said remote device and (ii) said remote device is further configured to run a refinement round based on said presence detected.

14. The system according to claim 1 , wherein said remote device is further configured to communicate an updated version of said scheduling data to said plurality of self-powered devices.

15. A system comprising:

a plurality of self-powered devices, wherein said self-powered devices are configured to (i) perform instructions, (ii) store scheduling data and (iii) select one of a plurality of modes of operation;

a plurality of proximity self-powered devices, wherein (A) said proximity self-powered devices are configured to (i) detect a presence and (ii) select one of a plurality of modes of operation and (B) each of said plurality of self-powered devices selects one of said plurality of modes of operation based on (i) said stored scheduling data and (ii) said presence detected by at least one of said plurality of proximity self-powered devices; and

one or more remote devices configured to determine said scheduling data, wherein (A) said scheduling data comprises one or more activities and (B) said remote device uses said presence detected to determine whether a resource has arrived at a location for said activity.

16. The system according to claim 15 , wherein said self-powered devices assigned to said resource communicate a notification when said resource is in a wrong location for said activity.

17. A system comprising:

a plurality of self-powered devices, wherein said self-powered devices are configured to (i) perform instructions, (ii) store scheduling data and (iii) select one of a plurality of modes of operation;

a plurality of proximity self-powered devices, wherein (A) said proximity self-powered devices are configured to (i) detect a presence and (ii) select one of a plurality of modes of operation and (B) each of said plurality of self-powered devices selects one of said plurality of modes of operation based on (i) said stored scheduling data and (ii) said presence detected by at least one of said plurality of proximity self-powered devices; and

one or more remote devices configured to determine said scheduling data, wherein (A) said scheduling data comprises one or more activities and (B) said remote device is further configured to (i) determine whether an actual attendance of a first activity affects an attendance of a second activity based on said presence detected by said proximity of self-powered devices and (ii) reallocate resources for said second activity based on said actual attendance.
