Swiveling seat insert for kayaks
A swiveling seat insert for kayaks allows a kayak user to physically turn their entire body while sitting in a kayak in order to gain a more advantageous body position for performing activities while using the kayak or for increased range of viewing angles.
1. A swiveling seat insert for kayaks comprising:
a base;
a seat;
a swivel interface;
the base comprising an insertable portion and a seat support portion;
the insertable portion and the seat support portion being positioned opposite each other on the base;
the seat being pivotally connected to the base through the swivel interface;
a seat back;
the seat back being connected to the seat opposite the base;
the seat back being connected to the seat; and
the base, the seat and the seat back being buoyant.
2. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
the seat being removably connected to the base.
3. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
the base comprising a kayak-seat fastener; and
the insertable portion being removably attached to a kayak deck by the kayak-seat fastener.
4. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 3 comprising:
the kayak-seat fastener being connected to the insertable portion.
5. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
a seat fastener; and
the seat fastener being removably attached between the seat and the seat back and the base.
6. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
the base comprising a wedge, round, or cuboid shape.
7. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
the insertable portion being made of a yielding material.
8. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
the seat being freely rotatable on the swivel interface relative to the base.
9. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
the base being configured to be affixed to a kayak deck.
10. The swiveling seat insert for kayaks as claimed in claim 9 comprising:
the base being prevented from moving relative to the kayak deck when being affixed to the kayak deck.
