Abstract

The present invention relates to antibodies targeted to BDCA2 that deplete plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC) and methods of using the antibodies to treat disorders associated with pDC.

Claims (18)

1. A monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof that specifically binds to BDCA2, comprising

a heavy chain variable region comprising the three complementarity determining regions of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, and/or

a light chain variable region comprising the three complementarity determining regions of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:4.

2. The monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 1 , which is a chimeric antibody or a fragment thereof.

3. The monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 1 , which is a humanized antibody or a fragment thereof.

4. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

5. A kit comprising the monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 1 and instructions for use.

6. The monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 1 , comprising a heavy chain variable region comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, and/or a light chain variable region comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:4.

7. The monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 1 , wherein the monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof depletes pDC when administered to a subject.

8. A monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof that specifically binds to BDCA2, comprising

a heavy chain variable region comprising the three complementarity determining regions of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:6, and/or

a light chain variable region comprising the three complementarity determining regions of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:8.

9. The monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 8 , which is a chimeric antibody or a fragment thereof.

10. The monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 8 , which is a humanized antibody or a fragment thereof.

11. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 8 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

12. A kit comprising the monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 8 and instructions for use.

13. The monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 8 , comprising a heavy chain variable region comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:6, and/or a light chain variable region comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:8.

14. The monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof of claim 8 , wherein the monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof depletes pDC when administered to a subject.
