Abstract

Examples of techniques for generating a plurality of action items from a meeting transcript of a meeting are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a computer-implemented method comprises chunking the meeting transcript into a plurality of chunks using a meeting topic model. The computer-implemented method also comprises performing, by a processor, information extraction on the plurality of chunks to extract action item information from the plurality of chunks. The computer-implemented method further comprises generating the plurality of action items based on the extracted action item information.

Claims (48)

1. A computer-implemented method for automatically generating a plurality of action items from a meeting transcript of a meeting, the method comprising:

chunking the meeting transcript into a plurality of chunks using a meeting topic model;

performing, by a processor, information extraction on the plurality of chunks to extract action item information from the plurality of chunks;

generating the plurality of action items based on the extracted action item information; and

enabling a meeting organizer to assign a priority and a dependency to each of the plurality of action items.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

prior to the meeting, receiving relevant meeting materials; and

prior to the meeting, generating the meeting topic model based on the relevant meeting materials.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

generating an action item graph representative of one of the plurality of action items.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , further comprising:

generating a directed graph representative of a plurality of action item graphs having a common entity.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the action item graph depicts the dependency assigned by the meeting organizer.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the action item information extracted from the plurality of chunks comprises at least an entity, a relation, an event, and a co-reference.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

enabling the meeting organizer to review an action item.

8. A system for generating a plurality of action items from a meeting transcript of a meeting, the system comprising:

a processor in communication with one or more types of memory, the processor configured to

chunk the meeting transcript into a plurality of chunks using a meeting topic model,

perform information extraction on the plurality of chunks to extract action item information from the plurality of chunks,

generate the plurality of action items based on the extracted action item information, and

enable a meeting organizer to assign a priority to each of the plurality of action items.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

prior to the meeting, receive relevant meeting materials; and

prior to the meeting, generate the meeting topic model based on the relevant meeting materials.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

generate an action item graph representative of one of the plurality of action items.

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

generate a directed graph representative of a plurality of action item graphs having a common entity.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the action item information extracted from the plurality of chunks comprises at least an entity, a relation, an event, and a co-reference.

13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

enable the meeting organizer to review an action item.

14. A computer program product for generating a plurality of action items from a meeting transcript of a meeting, the computer program product comprising:

a non-transitory storage medium readable by a processing circuit and storing instructions for execution by the processing circuit for performing a method comprising

chunking the meeting transcript into a plurality of chunks using a meeting topic model,

performing information extraction on the plurality of chunks to extract action item information from the plurality of chunks,

generating the plurality of action items based on the extracted action item information, and

enabling a meeting organizer to assign a priority to each of the plurality of action items.

15. The computer program product of claim 14 , wherein the method further comprises:

prior to the meeting, receiving relevant meeting materials; and

prior to the meeting, generate the meeting topic model based on the relevant meeting materials.

16. The computer program product of claim 14 , wherein the method further comprises:

generating an action item graph representative of one of the plurality of action items.

17. The computer program product of claim 16 , wherein the method further comprises:

generating a directed graph representative of a plurality of action item graphs having a common entity.

18. The computer program product of claim 14 , wherein the action item information extracted from the plurality of chunks comprises at least an entity, a relation, an event, and a co-reference.

19. The computer program product of claim 14 , wherein the method further comprises:

enabling the meeting organizer to review an action item.
