Hydrogen sulphide compounds
The application describes Hydrogen Sulphide (H 2 S), or a (H 2 S) generating compound or compound capable of stimulating H 2 S production in a pregnant subject, for use in the treatment of pre-eclampsia (PE) or fetal growth restriction.
1. A method for treating pre-eclampsia or fetal growth restriction in a host animal, the method comprising administering to the host animal an effective amount of one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of ACS 14, ACS 83, ACS 84, ACS 85, S-diclofenac, GYY4137, H 2 S-sildenafil, ADT-OH, H 2 S-Latanoprost, and H 2 S-Sartans, and salts thereof.
2. A method for monitoring treatment of pre-eclampsia or impaired fetal growth in a host animal, the method comprising measuring the amount of H 2 S in the blood, serum or plasma of the host animal prior to treatment and comparing it to the amount of H 2 S after treatment with one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of ACS 14, ACS 83, ACS 84, ACS 85, S-diclofenac, GYY4137, H 2 S-sildenafil, ADT-OH, H 2 S-Latanoprost, and H 2 S-Sartans, and salts thereof.
3. The method of claim 1 for treating pre-eclampsia.
4. The method of claim 3 wherein the compound is S-diclofenac, or a salt thereof.
5. The method of claim 3 wherein the compound is ACS 14.
6. The method of claim 3 wherein the compound is GYY4137.
7. The method of claim 1 for treating fetal growth restriction.
8. The method of claim 7 wherein the compound is S-diclofenac, or a salt thereof.
9. The method of claim 7 wherein the compound is ACS 14.
10. The method of claim 7 wherein the compound is GYY4137.
11. The method of claim 3 wherein the compound is H 2 S-sildenafil.
12. The method of claim 3 wherein the compound is ADT-OH.
13. The method of claim 3 wherein the compound is H 2 S-Latanoprost.
14. The method of claim 3 wherein the compound is H 2 S-Sartans.
