Abstract

Synthesis of four coordinated palladium complexes and their applications in light emitting devices thereof.

Claims (32)

1. A compound represented by the formula:

wherein:

Pd represents palladium;

each N independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted pyridyl;

each C independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl; and

each E independently represents oxygen or a covalent bond.

2. An organic light-emitting diode comprising, as an emissive material, the compound of claim 1 .

3. An organic photovoltaic device comprising, as a donor or acceptor material, the compound of claim 1 .

4. The compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is represented by the formula:

5. An organic light-emitting diode comprising, as an emissive material, the compound of claim 4 .

6. An organic photovoltaic device comprising, as a donor or acceptor material, the compound of claim 4 .

7. The compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is represented by the formula:

9. An organic photovoltaic device comprising, as a donor or acceptor material, the compound of claim 7 .

10. A compound represented by the formula:

wherein:

Pd represents palladium;

each N independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted pyridyl;

each C independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl; and

each E independently represents oxygen or a covalent bond.

11. The compound of claim 10 , wherein the compound is represented by the formula:

12. An organic light-emitting diode comprising, as an emissive material, the compound of claim 10 .

13. An organic photovoltaic device comprising, as a donor or acceptor material, the compound of claim 10 .

14. A compound represented by the formula:

wherein:

Pd represents palladium;

N represents a substituted or unsubstituted pyridyl;

each C independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl or imidazolyl; and

each E independently represents oxygen or a covalent bond.

15. The compound of claim 14 , wherein the compound is represented by the formula:

16. An organic light-emitting diode comprising, as an emissive material, the compound of claim 14 .

17. An organic photovoltaic device comprising, as a donor or acceptor material, the compound of claim 14 .
