Abstract

An electronic device is provided such that a user can experience a quick launch of an application therein. The electronic device includes a housing, a display, an input unit, a processor, a non-volatile memory to store an application program, and a volatile memory to store instructions that allow the processor to load a first part of the application program in the volatile memory based on a first change of state of the electronic device, to load a second part of the application program in the volatile memory based on a second change of state of the electronic device and to display an image or text generated by the loaded first or second part. Since at least part of the application is preloaded before the second input is generated, only the remainder of the application has to be loaded in order to execute the application after the second input is generated.

Claims (27)

1. An electronic device, comprising:

a housing;

a display exposed through one side of the housing;

an input device configured to be detachably attached to or inserted into the housing;

a processor located in the housing and electrically connected to the display;

a non-volatile memory electrically connected to the processor and configured to store a memo program; and

a volatile memory electrically connected to the processor,

wherein the non-volatile memory is configured to store instructions that, when executed by the processor, configure the processor to:

detect a change of a state of the display from a turned-on state to a turned-off state, or from a turned-on state to a low-power state, the electronic device entering a lock state after detecting the change of the state of the display, wherein the lock state only allows a part of functions supported by at least one designated program comprising the memo program, and wherein other part of the functions is disallowed to execute while the at least one designated program is executed in the lock state,

detect, while the state of the display is the turned-off state or the low-power state and the lock state is maintained, a change of a state of the input device from a state in which the input device is completely attached to the housing to a state in which the input device is at least partially detached from the housing,

caching the memo program from the non-volatile memory to the volatile memory while the lock state is maintained, in response to the detected change of the state of the input device from the state in which the input device is completely attached to the housing to the state in which the input device is at least partially detached from the housing;

load the memo program in the volatile memory while the lock state is maintained and execute the memo program while the lock state is maintained, in response to the caching of the memo program, and

display, while the lock state is maintained, at least one of an image or a text generated within a user interface of the memo program in response to the execution of the memo program, and

wherein the user interface of the memo program is distinct from a lock screen for indicating that the electronic device is in the lock state.

2. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the non-volatile memory further comprises an instruction that, when executed by the processor, configures the processor to:

activate at least one area of the display at least partially, based on the change of the state of the input device from the state in which the input device is attached to the housing to the state in which the input device is at last partially detached from the housing, and

receive an input of a pen on the activated at least one area of the display.

3. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the non-volatile memory further comprises an instruction that, when executed by the processor, configures the processor to:

display the at least one area of the display, where the input of the pen is received, in black.

4. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the non-volatile memory further comprises an instruction that, when executed by the processor, configures the processor to:

transfer the input of the pen to a second application program that is different from the memo program.

5. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the non-volatile memory further comprises an instruction that, when executed by the processor, configures the processor to:

receive a second user input of the pen requesting storage of the input of the pen on the activated at least one area of the display, and

store in the non-volatile memory the input of the pen, in response to the received user input request.

6. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the non-volatile memory further comprises an instruction that, when executed by the processor, configures the processor to:

receive a second user input requesting completion of the memo program, and

temporarily store, when a storage request has not been received, the input of the pen in response to the completion request of the memo program.
