Abstract

The present invention provides a hot melt adhesive for high-speed coating and spiral coating at low temperature. The hot melt adhesive has excellent adhesion to polyethylene and nonwoven fabric, and is suitable for disposable products. The hot melt adhesive comprises: (A) a propylene homopolymer having a melting point of 100° C. or lower which is obtainable by polymerizing propylene using a metallocene catalyst; and (B) an ethylene-based copolymer.

Claims (15)

1. A hot melt adhesive, comprising:

(A) a propylene homopolymer which has a melting point not higher than 100° C. and is obtainable by polymerizing propylene with a metallocene catalyst;

(B) an ethylene-based copolymer;

(C) a tackifier resin; and

(D) an oil,

wherein (A) the propylene homopolymer comprises both (A1) a propylene homopolymer having weight average molecular weight not more than 60,000 and (A2) a propylene homopolymer having weight average molecular weight more than 60,000,

wherein (B) the ethylene-based copolymer comprises an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer, and the ethylene/α-olefin copolymer comprises an ethylene/propylene copolymer, and

wherein the combined (A) the propylene homopolymer and (B) the ethylene-based copolymer is 100 parts by weight of the total weight of the hot melt adhesive;

wherein (A) the propylene homopolymer is 60 to 95 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the combined (A) the propylene homopolymer and (B) the ethylene-based copolymer;

wherein (C) the tackifier resin is 20 to 180 parts by weight of the total weight of the hot melt adhesive; and

wherein (D) the oil is 40 to 120 parts by weight of the total weight of the hot melt adhesive.

2. The hot melt adhesive according to claim 1 , wherein (B) the ethylene-based copolymer comprises an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer which is obtainable by polymerization with a metallocene catalyst, and wherein the ethylene/α-olefin copolymer comprises an ethylene/propylene copolymer.

3. The hot melt adhesive according to claim 1 , wherein the adhesive has a melt viscosity at 150° C. of 7,000 mPa·s or less.

4. The hot melt adhesive according to claim 1 , wherein the adhesive further comprises (E) a wax, and (E) the wax comprises a wax modified with a carboxylic acid and/or carboxyl anhydride.

5. A disposable product comprising the hot melt adhesive of claim 1 .
