Abstract

A light emitting element includes a flexible plate-like portion having a glass substrate, and an organic functional layer formed on one surface side of the glass substrate. The organic functional layer includes a light emitting layer. When the plate-like portion is curved in a prescribed curving direction, and one surface of the plate-like portion is a concave surface, and the other surface thereof is a convex surface, a surface which is positioned on the concave surface side among both surfaces of the glass substrate is referred to as a first surface. When the plate-like portion is curved in a curving direction, and the one surface of the plate-like portion is a concave surface, and the other surface thereof is a convex surface, a compressive stress is applied to a portion whose distance from the first surface of the glass substrate is less than or equal to L (L>T/2).

Claims (26)

1. A light emitting element, comprising:

a glass substrate, the glass substrate comprising one surface and another surface,

an organic functional layer which includes a light emitting layer, and is on the glass substrate,

a sealing layer on the organic functional layer, the sealing layer comprising an inorganic solid, and

a resin layer which is arranged toward the another surface side of the glass substrate,

wherein a thickness of the resin layer is thicker than the thickness of the glass substrate,

wherein a center of a thickness direction of the glass substrate is positioned on the one surface side of the light emitting element with respect to a center of the thickness direction of the light emitting element, and

wherein the organic functional layer is on a concave surface side of the glass substrate when the light emitting element is curved in a curving direction such that the one surface side of the glass substrate is a concave surface, and

wherein the center of the thickness direction of the light emitting element is in the resin layer.

2. The light emitting element of claim 1 , further comprising an electrode positioned between the sealing layer and the organic functional layer.

3. The light emitting element of claim 2 , further comprising another electrode positioned between the substrate and the organic functional layer.

4. The light emitting element of claim 1 , wherein the glass substrate is flexible.

5. The light emitting element of claim 1 , wherein the glass substrate has a thickness in a range of 10 microns to 200 microns.

6. A light emitting element, comprising:

a glass substrate, the glass substrate comprising one surface and another surface,

an organic functional layer which includes a light emitting layer, and is on the glass substrate,

a sealing layer on the organic functional layer, the sealing layer comprising an inorganic solid, and

a resin layer which is arranged toward the another surface side of the glass substrate,

wherein a thickness of the resin layer is thicker than the thickness of the glass substrate,

wherein a center of a thickness direction of the glass substrate is positioned on the one surface side of the light emitting element with respect to a center of the thickness direction of the light emitting element, and

wherein the organic functional layer is on a concave surface side of the glass substrate when the light emitting element is curved in a curving direction such that the one surface side of the glass substrate is a concave surface, and

wherein the center of the thickness direction of the light emitting element is in the glass substrate.

7. The light emitting element of claim 6 , further comprising an electrode positioned between the sealing layer and the organic functional layer.

8. The light emitting element of claim 7 , further comprising another electrode positioned between the substrate and the organic functional layer.

9. The light emitting element of claim 6 , wherein the glass substrate is flexible.

10. The light emitting element of claim 6 , wherein the glass substrate has a thickness in a range of 10 microns to 200 microns.
