Abstract

The invention relates to closable containers and a method for retrieving a shut state and/or a location of a closable container, wherein the container has at least one RFID chip having a connected near field antenna and a far field antenna. The RFID chip is arranged at the first or at the second container part and the far field antenna is arranged at the other one of the first and second container part, respectively. In the closed position of the container, a noncontact electromagnetic coupling takes place between the near field antenna and the far field antenna. Due to the interaction of a sending unit and a receiving unit, a response signal can by generated by RFID chip and transmitted. The range of said response signal depending on the shut position of the container.

Claims (21)

1. A closable container, comprising:

a first container part;

a second container part;

a guide movably coupling one of the first and second container parts to the other of the first and second container parts;

an RFID chip having a connected near field antenna arranged at one of the first and second container parts; and

a far field antenna arranged at the other of the first and second container parts, wherein the container has a closed position and an open position and a transition between the open position and the closed position is achieved by a relative movement of one of the first and second container parts with respect to other of the first and second container parts, the relative movement of the first and second container parts continually constrained by the guide during the transition, and wherein a noncontact electromagnetic coupling takes place between the near field antenna and the far field antenna when the container is in the closed position.

2. The container according to claim 1 , wherein first container part comprises at least one of a body of the container, a lid of the container, and a lock element of the container.

3. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the second container part comprises at least one of a body of the container, a lid of the container, and a lock element of the container.

4. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the container comprises a guide which predetermines the relative movement of the first and second container parts with respect to each other upon a transition between the closed position and the open position.

5. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the container consists of paper, cardboard or of a composite material comprising paper and cardboard.

6. The container according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first and second container parts includes a tab.

The container according to claim 1 , wherein the RFID chip having the near field antenna and the far field antenna are in each instance arranged such that, in the closed position of the container, the RFID chip having the near field antenna and the far field antenna are each arranged in the interior of the container.

8. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the container comprises a guide which predetermines a relative arrangement of the first and second container parts with respect to each other in the closed position.

9. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the first container part is a body and the second container part is a lid.

10. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second container parts comprise first and second complementary lock elements of the container.

11. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second container parts comprise first and second complementary components of a butterfly lock.

12. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second container parts comprise first and second complementary components of a bolt lock.

13. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second container parts comprise first and second complementary components of a latch lock.

14. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the near field antenna and the far field antenna are tuned to each other.

15. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the RFID chip is configured to receive a signal from a stationary transmitter and to transmit a response signal to a corresponding stationary receiver, wherein the stationary transmitter and receiver are in communication with a data processing installation adapted to track the location of the container.

16. The container according to claim 15 , wherein the RFID chip receives the signal via the near field antenna and transmits the response signal via at least one of the near field and the far field antenna.
