Abstract

A display device includes a through portion passing through a display layer. The display includes a plurality of scan lines above the substrate and extending in a first direction, a plurality of data lines extending in a second direction, and a plurality of pixels connected to the scan lines and data lines. The data lines include a first data line and a second data line disconnected by the through portion, and a third data line spaced apart from the through portion along the first direction. The first data line is electrically connected with the third data line.

the third data line is connected to a third pixel circuit of a third pixel, and

the third pixel circuit and the first pixel circuit are arranged in a second virtual line parallel to the first direction.

2. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first data line and the second data line are spaced apart from each other in the second direction, with the through portion therebetween.

3. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the substrate includes:

a non-display area surrounding the display area.

4. The display device as claimed in claim 3 , wherein at least a partial region of the non-display area is bent with respect to the display area.

5. The display device as claimed in claim 3 , further comprising:

a data connection line to connect the first data line to the third data line.

6. The display device as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the data connection line is integrally formed with the first data line and the third data line and includes a same material as the first data line and the third data line.

7. The display device as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the data connection line is bent in the non-display area.

8. The display device as claimed in claim 5 , further comprising:

an insulating layer between the data connection line and the first and third data lines, and wherein the data connection line is connected to the first data line and the third data line via a contact hole passing through the insulating layer.

9. The display device as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the data connection line is in the display area.

10. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the plurality of data lines includes a fourth data line spaced apart from the through portion along the first direction, wherein the third data line is between the through portion and the fourth data line, and wherein the fourth data line extends toward an edge of the substrate.

11. The display device as claimed in claim 10 , further comprising:

a metallic layer to induce a parasitic capacitance between an extended portion of the fourth data line and the metallic layer.

12. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising:

an insulating layer between a scan line connected to the first pixel circuit of the first pixel and a scan line connected to the third pixel circuit of the third pixel.

each of the first pixel and the third pixel includes a thin film transistor (TFT) which includes a semiconductor layer, a gate electrode, a source electrode, and a drain electrode, and

the gate electrode of the TFT of the first pixel and the gate electrode of the TFT of the third pixel include a same material.

14. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising:

a data driver connected to the plurality of data lines,

the second data line is closer to the data driver than the first data line.

15. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein:

each of the first, second, and third pixel circuits includes a thin film transistor (TFT) and a storage capacitor, and

each of the first, second and third pixel circuits is connected to a display element.

16. The display device as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the display element includes an organic light-emitting diode (OLED).

17. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein an outer edge of the through portion is at least partially surrounded by the plurality of pixels.

18. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the through portion extends toward an edge of the substrate.

19. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first pixel circuit is connected to a first scan line, the third pixel circuit is connected to a second scan line, separate from the first scan line, such that a scan signal of the first scan line is independent from a scan signal of the second scan line.
